We had some very special visitors on Tuesday morning…the NHS class of 2024! Bresnahan students participated in the 2nd Annual Senior Parade with signs to cheer on our NHS grads and Bresnahan teachers enjoyed seeing familiar faces.
STEM Expo Thank You!
On behalf of the Bresnahan, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kristin Spinney for planning, organizing, and running our STEM Expo! This amazing event could not be what it was without the vendors who participated. Their involvement played a significant role in making the event a resounding success! It was inspiring to see the excitement on their faces as they explored the various activities you provided - thank you!
Visual Arts
Grade 3 learns a few watercolor techniques with Mrs. Jamison, and Keep the Lights Burning heartwarming story! This last work of art is grade 3 final masterpiece …fame worthy!
24-25 Class Placement
We are in the process of class placement for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a thorough, thoughtful process that considers the whole child’s academic, social and behavioral needs. The entire Bresnahan staff participates in this process to ensure that students are mindfully placed to have a successful school experience. With the large number of students in the building, we cannot take placement requests. Thank you for understanding and trusting the process.
Last Week of Clipper Courses!
Our Clipper Courses will be ending this week! Please adjust School Dismissal Manager with the appropriate dismissal routine for your child!
NEF School Pollinator Garden at FTB
A huge thank you to parents, students and staff that helped in creating the new NEF School Pollinator Garden this past Saturday! Be on the lookout for our native pollinators that will be planted soon.
CORI Process
All volunteers must have an up-to-date CORI on file with the Newburyport Elementary Schools.
Bring the completed CORI form along with your driver's license to the Administrative Assistant at our school office.
Please note CORI's are only valid for three years; after that you must reapply.
Fingerprinting
In keeping with Newburyport's continued focus on safety, volunteers/parents are required to be fingerprinted in two instances:
If you are going on a day or overnight field trip and will have direct and unmonitored contact with children;
If you are a lunchroom volunteer and will be bringing children out to the playground. Parents who volunteer in the classroom DO NOT need to be fingerprinted, if there will always be another adult present.
Massachusetts has contracted with MorphoTrust for fingerprinting. To book an appointment, visit the Massachusetts IdentoGO Website.
Please be aware there is a $35 fee for fingerprinting. Fingerprinting does not expire.
Kindergarten Registration 2024-2025
Registration for the 2024-2025 academic year begins February 1, 2024. There is no deadline for public kindergarten. Please submit your registration at your earliest convenience.
See our Enrollment Page for required forms and documents.
Walk and Roll Wednesday's
Please join us for Walk and Roll on Wednesday's! Let's get out of our cars and meet up as neighbors and friends to walk, bike, or roll to school. Walking and rolling is a healthy way to start the day, it's beneficial for the environment, promotes independence and it's FUN! Join a neighborhood meet-up spot (see attached maps for locations), or make your own!
Newburyport Youth Services still has spots available in a variety of their summer programs. Please follow this link with additional informatation https://newburyportma.myrec.com/info/default.aspx
Join the 2024-2025 PTO Board!!
The PTO is a great way to get involved and make an impact on our school community. We have specific openings for Assistant Treasurer, Vice President, and Molin teacher reps for next year's board. Additionally, all board positions can be shared so if you have interest in other areas, please reach out. The more the merrier! The PTO represents the Bresnahan, Molin and Nock schools, and meets once a month during the school year (but these meeting obligations can be shared as well!) Please email newburyportpto@gmail.com if you are interested. Thank you and we hope to see you next year!
