Sagebrush Elementary
Family Update 8/16/2024
Message from the Principal
Dear Sagebrush Elementary Families,
What a fantastic first week of school it has been! I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you—students, parents, and staff—for making our return to school such a positive and energizing experience.
Students: I am incredibly proud of how you have started the year. You came in with smiles, ready to learn, and embraced the new routines and challenges with enthusiasm. Whether it was meeting new friends, diving into new subjects, or adjusting to a new grade, your excitement and dedication have been evident. Keep up the great work, and remember that each day is an opportunity to grow and achieve something new!
Families: Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Your involvement is crucial to your child’s success, and we are grateful for the strong community you help us build here at Sagebrush. Whether you’ve been helping with morning drop-offs, encouraging your child at home, or participating in school activities, your contributions make a difference.
Staff: I want to extend my deepest appreciation to our wonderful teachers and staff. Your commitment to our students’ learning and well-being has truly shone through this week. From setting up welcoming classrooms to delivering engaging lessons and ensuring a smooth start to the year, your hard work and dedication have set a positive tone for the year ahead.
As we move forward, let’s continue to work together to maintain this momentum. We have an exciting year ahead, full of learning opportunities, new experiences, and chances to build a strong, supportive community.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, feedback, or concerns as we continue this journey together. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.
Thank you for making our first week back a success. I’m looking forward to all that we will accomplish together this school year!

Community Gatherings are underway!!
We have held our first two community gatherings before school this week. Community gatherings are an optional opportunity for students to collect in the gym before school starts to get to know each other and staff members throughout the building. Activities include social/emotional themes, short videos or stories, shoutouts, celebrations and team-building games. Since this is a new activity, I wanted to make sure that everyone is aware of some important details.
- Any students arriving before 7:55 will go directly to the gym (Door 13) for the community gathering or cafeteria (Door 9) for breakfast.
- There are staff supervising in both spaces.
- Because of the large number of students arriving at the front of the building, all drop-offs need to occur in the parking lot, not the service delivery area by the dumpsters.
- Students arriving after 7:55 will go through Door 1 and head straight to class.
- Families are only able to enter the building by checking in at the office through Door 1.
Students and staff really seem to have enjoyed the gatherings so far as we work to build an even stronger school community.
