February Fun
Dear Fairfield Community School District Family,
As we step into February, we are reminded that this month is not only about winter’s final stretch but also about growth, connection, and progress. Whether it’s celebrating all of the academic growth the first half of the year, engaging in exciting learning opportunities, or cheering on our students' activities, February is a time to recognize the dedication of our students, staff, and families. This month, we continue our commitment to fostering a culture of belonging, excellence, and continuous improvement across our schools. Thank you for your partnership in making Fairfield Community School District a place where every student can thrive!

A couple of specific changes connected to the proposed calendars.
*Friday early release will be moved up to 1:30 to allow for more collaborative learning time for teachers.
*There will be more student attendance days compared to this year.
*Graduation is moved up a week.
*We are also exploring staggered start times. This would allow us to eliminate the bus hub at the high school and reduce the amount of time kids are on buses. We have yet to finalize anything as we are still gathering input.

Superintendent's Message
Decision Making....a couple of thoughts.
Every day, schools make decisions that impact students, staff, and families—some requiring careful planning and input, while others must be made in the moment. Regardless of the situation, one thing remains true: the best decisions are those made collaboratively, not in isolation.
In the FCSD, we believe that involving educators, families, and students in the decision-making process leads to stronger outcomes. Whether we're shaping learning objectives, addressing student needs, or adjusting school policies, collaboration ensures that diverse perspectives are considered and that our choices reflect what’s best for our students.
Your voice matters. By staying engaged—whether through conversations with teachers, participation in school events, or involvement in committees—you help shape the future of our schools. Together, we create an environment where every student belongs, grows, and thrives.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
