Monday Notes

Fall has finally arrived in at least parts of our state and with that comes concerts, programs, marching contest, and All-State auditions. While it is a busy time, it is also an exciting time as we see progress in our students and know that soon we will all meet in Albuquerque for the All-State Music Festival and In-Service Conference. This summer the NMMEA Board of Directors created an Assistant Executive Director position and Amy Williams was chosen to fill the position. As Amy transitions into her new role, expect to see more of her! Welcome Amy!

Please take note of the following very important dates and deadlines. Remember that all closing times are 5:00 pm. These deadlines are pre-programmed and can not be extended. Please do not wait until the last day of the audition window to audition students.

• October 9 - Final registration deadline for Choir, Guitar and Orchestra
• October 9 - Early registration deadline for Band and Jazz
• October 16 - Final registration deadline for Band and Jazz
• October 16 - Audition window opens for Choir, Guitar and Orchestra
• October 23 - Audition window opens for Choir, Guitar and Orchestra
• October 29 - Close of audition window for Choir, Guitar and Orchestra
• November 5 - Close of audition window for Band and Jazz

Please keep in mind that the registration deadline for the state choir and band contest is December 1st. Check the NMAA website for registration process and details. If you have questions, please contact Zac Stevenson.

• Don't forget to add a luncheon ticket to your registration! If you are registering through your school district, and they are not purchasing tickets, please email Neil Swapp to purchase a ticket.
