JHE Family Night
One School, One Book Celebration
Please join the PTG and all your fellow Hound families for one final huge JHE Family Night of the year!
This Friday 5/17 from 6:00-7:30 PM in the JHE library and playground, the PTG will be hosting a fun culminating event to the month-long "One School, One Book" program at Henderson, where all grade levels have been reading (or listening to) the book Almost Super by Marion Jensen.
There will be fun activities and games at different stations for students and families to participate in. Kona Ice will be present during the event if you would like to purchase and enjoy some shaved ice.
Come join in on the fun and for a chance to win a copy of Searching for Super, a sequel to Almost Super!
We are also searching for some Superhero volunteers for the event. Please click the link here to sign up. BUSD Volunteer Clearance is not required for this after-hours event.
See you there!

Diversity, Including and Belonging Corner
Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
The Joe Henderson PTG Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Committee (DIBC) would like to thank you for your help in strengthening our community! We had a great year and we look forward to continuing this work with you!
We are closing out the year with the theme of Pride - Pride in Yourself, Pride in your School, and Pride in your Community. The end of the school year is a great time to reflect on the ways in which our Hounds learned and celebrated throughout the year. We are so proud of our Hound students and families for the many ways in which our school community participated in different events and celebrated different cultures and communities through art, dialogue, reading, and activities. We celebrated our loved ones who are no longer with us on our Ofrenda during día de Los Muertos, we walked to school honoring Ruby Bridges, we practiced the art of Calligraphy during Lunar New Year, we watched and practiced African Dance at International Art Night, and so much more!! Check out the Hound Pride poster, proudly displayed in the hallway at school. We have so much #HOUNDPRIDE and we cannot wait to learn more about ourselves and each other and celebrate together next year!
We welcome your input in bringing DIB to life at Joe Henderson. What is important for our school community to highlight and celebrate throughout the school year? Send us an email at DIBC@joehendersonptg.org to share your ideas (and join our team)!
