From the Principal.... Matt Clark
Good afternoon and happy summer!
As we stand on the brink of summer, I find myself reflecting on the fleeting nature of time and the special moments that define our journey. Middle school is such a unique and pivotal stage in our children's lives. It's a time when they grow not only academically but also socially and emotionally. Watching them navigate these important years, filled with challenges and triumphs, has been a privilege. Your children are only in middle school for three years, but it is such a formative time in their lives that it often feels like a much larger chunk of their childhood. They enter as curious kids and leave as confident young adults, ready to take on high school and beyond.
With mixed emotions, we prepare to send our eighth graders off to high school. The bonds they've formed and the lessons they've learned here will stay with them as they embark on the next exciting stage of their educational journey. On a personal note, this transition holds even greater significance for me as my own daughters will be moving on to middle school and high school next year. It's a poignant reminder of how quickly time passes and how each stage of life, while fleeting, is filled with its own unique beauty and challenges. As parents, we cherish these moments, knowing that each step forward is both an ending and a beginning. Let’s embrace this special time, celebrating the achievements of our children and looking forward to the new adventures that await.
I also want to take a moment to thank you all for your patience this year as I stepped into a new role in a new community. While I’m going to miss this awesome group of 8th graders, I am also looking forward to next year with a bit more knowledge under my belt. I appreciate your continued partnership and support of Thompson Middle School. I hope your summer is filled with rest and relaxation alongside those you cherish most. Enjoy and Roll Thunder!
