Birthday Treat Reminders
If a parent wishes to send treats to school for his/her child’s birthday celebration, that parent must notify the child’s teacher at least one week in advance. ALL food items must be store-bought and include a list of ingredients due to numerous food allergies.
BE in the Know with Harmony
If you would like daily or weekly updates on school attendance, lunch accounts, grades and school discipline then sign up through Harmony. Log in to Harmony and select the menu tab, scroll down to notifications profile, set your profile settings as desired, then save your updates.
Our grading practice allows students to reassess if they get below a 70% on an assessment. The teachers will reteach and offer a retest. The grade can be replaced up to a max score of 80%. If a student did not put forth effort, refused or rushed then they can be given an option to redo the assessment without reteaching occurring. We also enter a 50% as the lowest grade to make sure that scores are not deflated from one grade.
Counseling Corner
We have officially wrapped up the second component of our Eagle Pledge: Positive Attitude. Students have learned about Growth Mindset and the many ways our brain can grow, get stronger, and be flexible! Our younger grades read stories such as, "Your Fantastic Elastic Brain," "Bubblegum Brain," and "The Magical YET!" Our upper elementary students learned about "Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset" and Perseverance. Encourage your students to use this new information they have learned by reminding them that THEY CAN DO HARD THINGS! With practice, effort, and persistence, they can accomplish anything they set their mind to!
When we return to school after break, we will begin talking about the next component of our Eagle Pledge: Good Citizenship.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out! Have a wonderful holiday and break!
