Building Trades "Boot Camp" for VUSD High School Girls
New Pre-Apprenticeship Program in VUSD
We are happy to share that Vista Unified has formed a partnership with the San Diego Workforce Partnership and the San Diego Building Trade Commission to offer a Pre-Apprenticeship Program to be hosted at the Vista Adult School.
This comprehensive program aims to provide participants with a solid foundation in the building trades industry. Through hands-on training, participants will gain exposure to various trade tools, enhance their mathematical skills, and learn essential safety practices, effectively preparing them for a rewarding career in construction.
Additionally, the program offers a range of valuable services, including:
- Eligibility for participants to receive a stipend during their time in the program, providing financial support.
- Assistance with networking and job application processes in their desired trade field, facilitating a seamless transition into employment.
- Financial assistance with childcare costs for participants who are parents or legal guardians of children under the age of 18, ensuring accessibility and removing potential barriers to participation.
This Pre-Apprenticeship Program represents an incredible opportunity for our students and community members to explore diverse career paths in the trades while receiving comprehensive training and support services.
Summer School 2024
Credit Recovery allows high school students the opportunity to recover a failed course through alternate means. Earning a passing grade in the same or closely similar course provides credit and can replace the prior D/F grade for high school GPA calculations.
Discuss with your assigned school counselor.
