Cybersecurity Awareness Month
MSC Cybersecurity Awareness October 2024
Play the Cybersecurity Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Game!
Our district-wide Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign for October 2024 aims to engage all educational partners in promoting digital safety and security.
The cornerstone of our strategy is a voluntary Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for staff, incentivizing completion of KnowBe4 training videos with raffle entries for gift card prizes. This gamified approach will run from October 14 to November 1.
To maintain momentum and increase awareness, we will distribute cybersecurity-themed posters weekly on Tuesday & Thursday to staff, teachers, and secondary students.
The campaign will culminate with a social media outreach to families, providing cybersecurity tips in both English and Spanish.

ParentSquare - Direct Messaging Improved Interface
Direct Messaging Just Got a Major Upgrade! You now have the ability to message an entire class or group using your web browser and the mobile app.
Posts on ParentSquare are an incredibly effective way of sharing information with an entire class or group. However, teachers and coaches often need to communicate more directly with their classes and teams, including sending real-time updates, shorter notes, and messages inviting or requiring a response.
You can now send a Message to a group or class! Just follow these easy steps to do it:
3. Select Classes or Groups on the left, who you want to add, and then select one or more classes or groups. Click Add recipients.
4. You can continue to add other groups, classes or people.
5. Type your Message and click Send.
Click here to acces ParentSquare Q&A for Class or Group Messages.
You'll find answers to the following questions:
- How many recipients can be in a message?
- A new student was added to my class or group. Will they see the messages to my class/group?
- My class/group has a new member so I created a new message, but now it’s hard to know which message thread to use.
- Who shows up in the Quick Select list?
