Updates & Reminders

As a reminder, school is CLOSED on Monday, May 27th.
Students will have an early dismissal on Wednesday, June 5th and Thursday, June 6th. The last day of school is Thursday, June 6th.
5th grade graduation is Wednesday, June 5th at 10 AM.
The BES talent show is Thursday, June 6th at 9 AM.
The Flying Squirrels Go Nuts for Reading game is this Wednesday, May 29th. Families can purchase additional tickets for $10 a ticket through our school fundraiser site: https://fevo.me/bes2024. We hope to see you there!
Field Day is Friday, May 31st and we are looking for volunteers! If you can help out, sign up here.
The BPG will host a Family Movie Night featuring “Everyone’s Hero” on Friday, May 31st. Please join us on the back field at Byrd starting at 7:30pm to play and buy snacks. The movie will start once the sun goes down at 8:30pm. Please bring blankets, chairs, etc. to enjoy the movie under the stars! We are also taking pre orders for Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Pre-order before May 29th and they will be delivered during the movie night event for you to enjoy! Pre-order your donuts here.

GCPS STEM Camp

If you have any of the items below, please consider donating them to our GCPS STEM Camp! You can bring donations to the front office.

-clean medium or large jars or plastic containers with lids (like empty peanut butter containers)

-empty shoe boxes

-large tubes (from wrapping paper or paper towels)

-clean empty Pringles cans

-cardboard

-clean empty plastic yogurt containers

Join us for an exciting adventure at the GCPS STEM Camp from June 17th, 18th, 20th, and 21st at GMS! This camp is designed for students in Pre-K through 5th grade and is completely free of charge. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so sign up early before registration closes on May 31st! Sign up HERE.

Helpful Links & Info

Please notify the office about transportation changes via email at beseagles@glnd.k12.va.us. If you have daily transportation needs, please make sure you provide changes at the beginning of each week for the entire week. Please make sure you have all transportation changes in prior to 1:00 PM, this allows staff time to communicate all necessary changes and avoids confusion when a call is not received. We appreciate your support.

Parents who wish to chaperone a field trip or volunteer regularly in our school must submit to a background check every 2 years using the BIB portal. The process is completely electronic. If you are having problems with the system, contact Demetra Harris at dharris@glnd.k12.va.us.
