The News
We were really proud of the number of students who showed up Wednesday morning for See You at the Pole and Impact 4 Life. We counted close to 100 students who attended one or both of the events.
Thank you to students Bella Welch, Saddie Hill and Jackson Wingo for helping clean the visitor's side bleachers after the football game at Hackleburg on Friday night.
Volleyball: Our varsity volleyball team beat Sheffield 3-0 to improve to 4-1 in area play while recording a school record 28 aces on serves. They also beat Tharptown 2-0. Our JV team beat Sheffield and Tharptown 2-0. Or JH team beat Sheffield and Shoals Christian 2-0.
Our JV also finished runner up in the Franklin County Tournament on Saturday beating Red Bay.
Cross Country: Our JH girls had a great run on Saturday at the Warriors Invitational Avery Wells finished first with a time of 14:55.41. Rayna Scott finished second with a time of 15:00.57. Addie Gilbert finished fifth with a time of 16:14.13.
Jase Quinn finished 15th in the high school boys division with a time of 13:38.19.
Football: Our football team has reached the halfway mark of the football season. The first half of the schedule was stout, with a combined record of 22-4 (Hamilton 4-1, Vinemont 4-1, Oakman 4-1, Winfield 5-1 and Hackleburg 5-0). We start the back half of the schedule at Midfield on Friday.

Announcements For The Week
* Seniors planning to attend the New York City trip in April, payment and permission forms are due Monday, September 30.
* Monday is the last day to sign up for Powder Puff Football and pay for t-shirts. Sign up sheets are on the office windows. T-shirts are $12. If students don’t pay by Sept 30, a shirt will not be ordered.
* Homecoming shirt order forms can be picked up in the basket outside of Mrs. Moore’s room. Forms are due by October 2.
* Monday is the final day to sign up for the SADD club and the Career Association. None will be added after Monday.
* Any current member of the National Junior Honor Society needs to pay their annual $10 dues to Mr. Taylor by October 9th.
* Anyone wanting to run for National Junior Honor Society officers need to let Mr. Taylor know in person or by email by October 4th. To qualify, students must have an have an overall A average, and have paid their dues for this year.
* The JAG Blood Drive is on October 16. Sign up sheets are outside of Mrs. King’s room.
* To get a signup sheet for FCCLA, see Mrs. Harris.

Homecoming Parade Entry Form
We are beginning to prepare for Homecoming events. As stated in the Spring and at the beginning of the school year, Homecoming is scheduled for Thursday, October 10, because of Fall Break. The parade will begin at 2pm and a community pep rally will be held at the stadium immediately afterwards. The game versus Carbon Hill will begin at 7pm.
