Fontana Weekly Wolf Update
Week of August 19-23, 2024
A special message from Mrs. Valenta
Dear Wolves Family,
Thank you to everyone who attended our Back To School Night! 🐺✨ Your participation is vital in creating a strong partnership between home and school, and it was wonderful to see so many of you committed to our students' success. Together We Can make this year truly special! 💚
As we continue our journey this year, I’d like to remind everyone of the importance of arriving to school on time. Our gates open at 7:30 AM for breakfast, and drop-off for those not having breakfast is between 7:40 AM and 8:00 AM. We understand that sometimes life happens, and you may be running late. If that’s the case, please park and walk your student to the office to check in after 8:00 AM. This ensures the safety of all our Wolves. 🐾
Please be sure to read this week's WWU update closely, as it contains a lot of important information about clubs, sports, the parent meeting for orchestra, and the upcoming 6th-grade camp. 📅
Let’s keep up the great work, continue to Howl with our Friends, and make this week another amazing one filled with learning and growth.
🐾Together We Can! 🐾
With a Proud Howl,
Mrs. Valenta

Dear 6th Grade Parents,
We are thrilled to extend an invitation to a unique and enriching experience for your child—an adventure that combines education with the great outdoors! On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 5:30 PM, we invite you to join us for an online information meeting on Zoom to learn all about the incredible opportunity at the Thousand Pines Outdoor Science School. ASA is excited to offer our 6th graders from both our Chino and Fontana campuses, a chance to participate in this outstanding program, where students will immerse themselves in the wonders of the San Bernardino National Forest. The Thousand Pines Outdoor Science School provides programs specifically designed to bring Next Generation Science Standards to life in an outdoor classroom setting. Here’s what makes this program so special:
- Academic Excellence: The curriculum meets California state standards with a focus on botany, geology, astronomy, ecology, and more. These lessons are taught by experienced staff on scenic trails, ensuring your child receives hands-on, practical learning experiences.
- Skill Development: Beyond academics, the program is designed to help students develop essential life skills such as communication, cooperation, social skills, and self-reliance. Through team-building activities and positive reinforcement, students gain confidence and resilience, especially those who may be away from home for the first time.
- Nature and Wildlife: Students will journal their experiences while learning about sustainability and engaging with nature and wildlife up close. From challenge courses to group activities, they’ll have hands-on opportunities to manage new situations in a supportive environment.
- Building Bonds: In addition to the educational experiences, your child will have the chance to form strong bonds with classmates, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
We hope your student will join us for this unforgettable experience. To learn more, please join our online information meeting next Wednesday, August 21, at 5:30 PM on Zoom. This will be a great opportunity to ask questions and get all the details about the trip.
