Read Across America Week
Read Across America Week is a yearly celebration in the United States. It was first started by the National Education Association. The main focus is on motivating children to read and fostering a love of reading. Here at Woodside, there will be a variety of spirit activities for students to participate in as well as daily literacy activities in the classrooms.
Monday, March 4th: "Oh the Places you’ll Go! Reading takes you places!”
Wear clothing with the name of a place you’ve been or want to go.
Tuesday, March 5th: “Readers have character!”
Dress as your favorite book character. Bring a book with a favorite character to school!
Wednesday, March 6th “Cozy up with a good book!”
Wear your pajamas.
Thursday, March 7th: “Thing 1 & Thing 2: Team up to read!”
Wear your grade level’s color OR team up with friends and dress alike!
K-purple , 1st-blue , 2nd-green , 3rd-yellow , 4th-red
Friday, March 8th: “Share a favorite book!”
Author Visit
Classes will team up with another class to do some partner reading of a favorite!
Spring Book Fair
The Spring Book Fair is March 11–15. Each student gets a $6 credit to shop at the bookfair (no coupon needed)! In addition to the family shopping hours below, students may shop with their class on Tuesday (3/12) or Wednesday (3/13). Please consider setting up an eWallet for your students’ convenience. Pajama Jam Spring Dance
Grab a parent and your pajamas for a party!
Come show off your dance moves this Spring (2024) at our Pajama Jam Spring Dance.
$7 per child. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Purchase tickets here.
Location: Woodside Gym 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
DJ. Food Trucks. Craft.

Volunteers Needed to Help with Staff Appreciation Week
We need 3-4 more volunteers to help out coordinator with staff appreciation week May 6-10. We will start brainstorming/planning in late March, early April. Please reach out to vicepresident@woodsidehomeandschool.com if interested in helping.

Who is Home & School
Woodside Home & School is a parent/teacher group which helps fund raise and coordinate exciting events for the families of Woodside Elementary School part of Hamilton School District located in Sussex, Wisconsin.
Through great partnerships between parents and staff, Woodside Home and School enhances the children’s learning environment by providing support to staff, students and the entire school program; organizing events, enabling communication throughout the school community, and providing financial support.
It is the mission of the Woodside Home & School Association, a parent/staff organization,
