Student of the Month Assembly: Collaborative
Each month we have a SOTM Assembly focused on a particular trait. This month we were focused on the word "Collaborative." Our high school wrestlers came over with Coach Sundlie to give our students an idea of what collaboration means to them. Teachers look for students who are demonstrating these skills within the classroom and present an award to them at the assembly.

Unity Day
Unity Day is when we wear orange to bring awareness and to help prevent bullying. Mrs. Monsanto and Mr. Kondracki, our school counselors, put together great lessons that every student at OMS was a part of that discussed ways to prevent bullying, how to be supportive to those impacted, and the best way to report bullying situations. We want our school to feel safe, warm, and to let everyone know they are seen.

Halloween at OMS
Students and staff alike were able to embrace their creativity as they got into the Halloween spirit dressing up as some of their favorite characters. The halls quickly became filled with vibrant displays of colors and costumes. It's always fun to spend time in someone else's shoes, even if for just a day.
5th Grade to Wilson's Creek
Did you know that Missouri had the 3rd most battles of any state in the Civil War? OMS fifth graders learned this and so much more as they were able to go Wilson's Creek National Battlefield. Students learned about life during the Civil War, medicine that was used, the many struggles of a solider, and so much more. The Civil War is part of the curriculum that students learn about in Mrs. Clark's Social Studies class.
