Welcome to April! Weather is changing but the focus still remains the same! This month we have students fully engaged in state testing and other academic activities. As always, attendance is very important, and our students receiving each learning opportunity possible is a must! The students do have a break from learning for Spring Break, but we will return in full learning mode! To find out what students are learning in each content area for each grade level, see the attachments below!

Why It's Important to be at School on Time:

Students arriving at school with time to spare have the luxury of settling in, greeting their teachers and classmates, selecting preferred classwork, and focusing their minds on the lessons to come. Students arriving late miss out on this natural transition period, and chronic tardiness may cause students to struggle with academic focus and relationships with peers. Showing up on time to school every day can help students develop the habit of being punctual, illustrates to them your commitment to their learning and friendships, and helps reduce classroom interruptions and distractions for all students. If a child misses school, it is important for families to provide an excuse detailing the absence. This allows missing work to be able to be completed, and an unexcused absence may also be considered excused. If there are questions about attendance procedures, the staff at Jefferson would gladly connect with the families when connected to answer any questions.

Attached is a calendar for the month of April that is filled with many different books and activities for students to complete at home. We encourage students to read at home to reinforce the skills and strategies need to solve unknown words.

The Raider Pantry is available for the any student or family to use. The pantry contains non-perishable food items, meats (when available), clothing and personal hygiene products. Attached are the April breakfast and lunch menus. Just a reminder that breakfast and lunch are both free of charge for students.
