Lambs Ledger
February Edition
Dear Lambs Families,
This month, we are proud to celebrate Black History Month, a time to honor the achievements, contributions, and resilience of African Americans throughout history. Our students will engage in meaningful learning experiences that highlight the impact of Black leaders, innovators, and changemakers. We are especially excited to host a Gullah Geechee Storyteller and African Drummers, as well as provide our 3rd-5th graders with an enriching trip to The Dock Street Theatre to see the musical Last Stop on Market Street. These experiences will help bring history, culture, and storytelling to life for our students.
I also want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of daily attendance and arriving on time to school. Consistent attendance plays a vital role in your child’s academic success, helping them stay engaged, build strong learning habits, and develop a sense of responsibility. Each school day provides valuable lessons and interactions that cannot be replaced. When students are present and on time, they have the best opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed. Please partner with us in making school attendance a top priority for your child.
We recognize that our families come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and we want to assure you that our school is a place of safety, support, and belonging for all students. Keeping our students safe is our highest priority. On Monday, February 3rd, we will conduct our second-semester Lockdown Drill as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure preparedness. Practicing emergency drills allows us to reinforce safety procedures and provide our students with the confidence to respond in a calm and secure manner.
Together, we continue to build a community rooted in love, learning, and hope for a brighter future.
With gratitude,
Kayela Clark
Principal
