Alumni Newsletter - March 2016 Edition

Bring it on, 2016!

Our chapter is very excited for this year! We are off to a fantastic start, with at least one service, social and fundraising event each month of this semester! We will be participating in events such as District Convention in Nebraska, Relay for Life at Mizzou, State Music Festival, and so much more! We are very excited to share with you how we finished out 2015 and how we have brought in the new year!

What We've Been Up To

Finishing Up Marching Band Season

In December, our sisters involved with Marching Mizzou finished out their season with the annual marching band banquet. Though Mizzou did not get a bowl game trip this year, everyone still had a fun season! Now it's time for our sisters to get ready for IRELAND!!! Next stop, Dublin!!

WE HAVE A SPRING CLASS!

This semester began with the hopes of having a spring recruitment class! We held two different recruitment events - a cake walk and Show Your Colors - which were successful with both personal and chapter recruitment!

We now have 4 new prospective members who make up our Alpha Rho class - Emma, Luis, Mackenzie and Ashley. We are so excited to see them grow in our sisterhood!

These are the dates for future degrees - we would LOVE to see some alumni attend!

Second Degree: Sunday, April 10th

Initiation: Monday, April 18th

District Day 2016!

On February 12th and 13th, 11 of our sisters made the trip down to Springfield to attend District Day hosted by the Missouri State chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.

The first night was filled with driving, games, and lip-syncing. We then split up among host houses for the night. The next morning, our hosts brought us all to Hurts Donuts for breakfast with our Kappa chapter, and then went over to campus for the District Day events.

We got to hear a lot of Tau Beta-focused topics, as well as joint topics with Kappa. It was a great day full of learning and meeting other Kappas and Tau Betas from around the District! To finish the day, we headed over to Golden Corral to fuel up with food before we headed back home. We are psyched for District Convention in just a little bit more than a month!!
