Future Focus Week features skilled trades
Future Focus is a series of events that Leyden created as a way to highlight many of the options available to students after high school. This week’s Future Focus pathway will focus on the skilled trades. Students will listen to skilled trades announcements, explore apprenticeship opportunities and have an opportunity to visit the district trades fair taking place on Thursday, February 22, at East Leyden during periods 1-3.
Choosing a career or skilled trade as a postsecondary plan offers practical advantages in today's job market. Vocational education and apprenticeships provide hands-on experiences, developing real-world skills that lead to quicker entry into the workforce. This approach not only enhances employability but also fosters a sense of accomplishment as individuals contribute directly to building and maintaining essential aspects of society. Opting for a career or skilled trade provides a quicker path to personal growth, financial stability, and community impact.
