Friday is our annual Go Texan Day. Most of you know that rodeo season is one of my favorites. My dad, who is a native Houstonian, still calls the Livestock show the "Fatstock" show. My husband was an Ag teacher, and we spent many hours at district, local, and major shows. We've also spent a lot of time at small town rodeos, as my husband's best friend is a team roper. (We even saw George Strait rope down in Kingsville at his team roping competition back in the day!) Now, we get our "fix" on our HLSR committee, with an occassional trip to a rodeo event.

Go Texan Day is a wonderful tradition that doesn't necessarily look academic on the surface but does cover specific standards, as well as help develop soft skills. And...it's FUN! We're looking forward to seeing you Friday. Remember to pre-register to avoid the long lines - student dances begin promptly at the beginning of their specials time (see schedule below in PTA section). Let's rodeo, y'all!

The 5th grade Odyssey of the Minds team competed this weekend at the HARO regional competition. They placed 3rd and are headed to state! Congratulations, and a special thank you to their amazing coach Mrs. Bennett!

Meadow Wood Go Texan Day will be on Friday, February 28th, during your child's regular specials time. If you want to pre-register to avoid the long lines, please follow the link below!

Please complete the form with the name on your ID. You can only pre-register if you have already visited MWE and scanned your ID school this year. If you have not already had your ID scanned, you can either come to MWE on a day prior to the event and have it scanned (then pre-register) or sign in on the day of the event.

Reminder: Every week we have T-2-4 Tuesday - students are encouraged to wear their favorite college or military shirt. Fridays are MWE Spirit Day! Wear your Eagle attire!
