Churchill Families,
We are beginning our 5th week of school and lots of learning is going on. We are also sending home the STAR Reading and Math Family Report. If you have any questions, please ask your student's teacher. Lastly, we are continuing our short announcement each day from 9/16-10/15/24, to learn about famous Hispanic Americans. Please ask your student to name one of the Hispanic Americans from last week. See other resources below to review as a family.
Have an amazing week,

Vision and Hearing Screening - 9/23-9/27
Dear Parent/Guardian,
The Illinois Department of Public Health mandates that children at a specific age and grade level receive vision and hearing screenings from a certified technician. The children in the following categories are required by law to be screened: Pre-K through 3rd grade, 8th grade, students new to the district, students specifically referred by a teacher, and students receiving special education services.
Screening at Churchill School will begin on September 23. Willow School screenings will begin the following week, September 30. If the screening technician determines that your child may have a vision or hearing problem which needs further evaluation, you will receive a notification letter in the mail regarding the next steps and recommendations.
If you have questions, concerns, or object to these screenings for religious reasons, please contact your child's school nurse.
Thank you,
Gail Straney RN, NCSN
