THE IMPORTANCE OF ATTENDANCE
PLEASE COMPLETE THIS BRIEF SURVEY RELATED TO SCHOOL ATTENDANCE.
Regular school attendance in elementary school is crucial for a child's academic, social, and emotional development. Consistent attendance fosters a strong foundation in essential skills like reading, writing, and math, which are building blocks for future learning. It also helps children develop routines, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to build positive relationships with peers and teachers. When students miss school, they miss out on valuable learning opportunities and may struggle to catch up, potentially leading to gaps in knowledge and decreased academic performance. Establishing good attendance habits early sets the stage for long-term educational success and engagement.

GAGE AND THE FIRST LEGO LEAGUE
Gage students recently competed in the qualifying tournament for the FIRST LEGO League (FLL), which featured 24 teams, and we’re excited to share that they advanced to the regional tournament in December! Most of our team members are current or former Gage students.
The team was also honored with the “Breakthrough” award for their outstanding performance. This award recognizes teams that have shown remarkable growth in their confidence and abilities in both the robot game and the innovation project. It celebrates those who embody core values and understand that what they learn is more important than what they achieve.
Our practices take place in a backyard belonging to a Gage family where the team designs, codes the robot, and prepares to present their work and innovation project to judges—an effort that includes a 30-minute presentation!
SPANISH TUTORING BY FORMER GATORS
From Jillian and Josiah Rego
About Us
We are a brother-and-sister team who graduated from the Gage Elementary and Pershing Middle School Immersion programs. Josiah (currently a junior at Patrick Henry High School) has completed the Immersion program and received a Biliteracy Seal in Spanish. Jillian (currently a freshman at Patrick Henry High School) is also in the program, with just one more year to go. We are both fluent in Spanish and eager to help your student succeed.
How It Works
Sign up for a 30-minute session at the San Carlos Library. After registering for a time slot, with your permission we can contact your teacher so we can address specific needs.

FEELING LOST?
The Lost and Found has reached "max capacity" status and could now double as a pop-up thrift store! If you’ve noticed your child coming home a bit lighter on hats, jackets, or that favorite lunchbox, we just might have it here—along with a few mystery items that defy explanation. Please swing by and take a peek; we have everything from water bottles seeking hydration partners to hoodies looking for their long-lost owners. Help us give these items the happy reunion they deserve before they set off on a new adventure!
SEND A LOVE NOTE

GAGE FOOD DRIVE
Support San Diegans in need this holiday season by contributing to the annual Gage Food Drive! Gage families can participate by donating virtually or bringing non-perishable food items to their student’s classroom, where donations will be counted daily. The class with the highest number of donations will earn extra recess time!
Donations will be accepted from December 2nd to 6th and will be given to the San Diego Food Bank to help those in need. Please ensure that all items are non-expired and non-perishable. The most needed items include canned proteins like chicken or tuna, beans, canned fruits and vegetables, whole grain pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, and soup.
Thank you for your generosity and for making a difference in our community!
To donate monetarily, visit the Gage Elementary Virtual Store here: https://fooddriveonline.org/sandiegofoodbank/GageElementarySchool. If you would like your donation to count towards your student's classroom total, email GagePTA@gmail.com with a screenshot of your donation confirmation receipt along with the classroom you would like credited for the donation.
