New Opportunities at North Putnam
A recurring theme at North Putnam has been the addition of new opportunities for students and community members within our schools. At the elementary schools the addition of Reading Specialists provides new opportunities for students to gain assistance in the important skill of reading. A new Head Start program will bring additional opportunities for our communities' early learners. At the high school and middle school new opportunities abound in the form of courses and extra curricular programs.
In this edition we would like to highlight the new E-Sports Teams that have been created by Mr. Bucky Kramer and Mr. Vince Brooks. E-Sports is growing throughout the country, and this opportunity allows students to compete as a member of the North Putnam team in competitive video gaming. Teams in both the middle school and high school have already been using the new facility, and we are excited to learn more and watch this sport continue to grow at North Putnam.
E-Sports in schools foster teamwork, strategic thinking, and digital literacy, essential skills in today’s world. They offer an inclusive environment where students can excel, boosting self-esteem and engagement. By integrating E-Sports, our schools get to tap into students' passions, promoting a balance of education, competition, and collaboration. We look forward to seeing how this new program helps to enhance our overall educational plan and participation in school.
Welcome New Faculty/Staff

Ms. Hayes - North Putnam Middle School

During my time at Purdue, I earned a degree in social studies education and studied abroad. I help coach the middle school cheerleading team and teach 8th grade Current Events, Problems, and Issues. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. I am very excited to be a part of this community.
Mrs. Jessica Draper - 5th Grade Teacher - Roachdale Elementary
My name is Jessie Draper, and I chose Roachdale because of the great reputation North Putnam holds in the county. Also, I enjoy working in a smaller community because I grew up in a small town. For the last 6 years, I've been an Instructional Assistant in Greencastle. In May, I graduated with my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Western Governors University. I'm excited to work with the great students and staff at Roachdale Elementary!
Mrs. Kayla Brown - Life Skills - Roachdale Elementary

North Putnam Disc Golf Course
Did you know that North Putnam has a public Disc Golf course on the high school/middle school property? This was the brainchild of Mr. Brooks and Mr. Lawrence. The Disc Golf course officially opened in the Fall of 2023. It took a considerable amount of work by Brooks and Lawrence and a team of volunteers to clear and make the course a reality.
If you want to learn more about the sport of Disc Golf, reach out to Mr. Brooks or Mr. Lawrence, they would love to see the course used more, and are eager to help grow the sport of Disc Golf at North Putnam.
The course is open every day, but closed during school hours.
Recently, North Putnam High School student, Josh Taylor hit an ace on hole 15, this is the first known ace by a student! Congratulations Josh!
