Please Take the School Climate Survey - See the Links Below
“School climate is the heart and soul of the school. It is about that essence of a school that leads a child, a teacher, an administrator, and a staff member to love this school and to look forward to being there each school day.” (Freiberg & Stein, 1999, p. 11).

Believing...Achieving...Learning...Team Building...with Zeal! We are BALTZ!
This year's theme is Ready. Set. Grow! We will focus growing student achievement through a dedicated approach to equity and many other ways that our students can take actions to be safe, be kind, and be on-task!
Dear Baltz Families,
Happy April! We’re excited to kick off a new month and the start of the fourth marking period. It’s hard to believe we are in the final stretch of the school year, and we’re proud of how our students continue to learn and grow.
We hope you’ve had a chance to enjoy some of the photos we’ve shared from recent events, including our Career Fair, March Madness activities, and special moments like students receiving basket prizes and joining us in honoring our law enforcement partners. Thank you for helping us celebrate these joyful experiences!
As we approach Spring Break, our staff is working closely with students to reinforce expectations around playground safety and sportsmanship. Some grades have temporarily paused outdoor sports to review rules and ensure recess continues to be a safe, inclusive, and fun time for all.
This week, we’re also excited to resume Clubs on Tuesday and Wednesday. Students love these opportunities to explore interests and collaborate with peers outside the classroom setting.
As part of our commitment to supporting every student, we’ve launched the final MTSS cycle of the year. Students are working on setting meaningful goals and finishing the school year strong. Thank you to the families who joined us for our recent Bears’ Den meeting—we began planning for Teacher Appreciation Week and a fun end-of-year celebration. Join us at 6PM on April 15 to help us finish planning both events before Spring Break.
Another important reminder: the School Climate Survey is still open, and we truly value your feedback. Your input helps us make informed decisions to better serve our students and families. Please take a moment to complete the survey using the QR code or link included below.
We also want to bring your attention to our Lost and Found, which is currently overflowing. If your child is missing a coat, hoodie, lunchbox, or water bottle, please ask them to check the Lost and Found. Students will have until Friday, April 12th to claim items. After that, unclaimed items will be donated.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to offer Summer Programming at Baltz, running from June 23 through July 24, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (see the flyers below). More details will be shared soon, but we wanted to make sure families could save the date now.
Lastly, please take a moment to see the community health information from Nurse Clark below. Also, please review the school calendar. We have many exciting events and important dates coming up, and we want to be sure you don’t miss a thing!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Let’s make this final quarter our best one yet!
With gratitude,
Ms. Gallagher, Mrs. Palma and Mr. Wright

We are working to make our school environment a place where everyone can be safe, healthy and learning. Review the Attendance Matters flyers posted below to learn why daily attendance at school is so important for your child/children. We ask our families to do their best to ensure that students are on time each day, and that early dismissals are limited to emergencies only. Communication - Remind Application
This year all Red Clay Elementary schools will continue using the Remind App for home - school communication.
The district has created accounts for you. Check your email or text messages for an account invitation. If you can't find the invitation, contact your child's teacher. Once you click on the invitation, you will be able to choose the type of communication you prefer in Remind. Choose one or a combination of text messages or email for using the Remind App. Families can select the preferred language for all communications.
For more information about getting started...check out the information and video below.
Cell Phone Policy
At Baltz Elementary School, we follow an Off and Away Policy. Cell Phone and electronic device use is prohibited. It is our expectation that all cell phones and electronic devices are kept off and in backpacks during the school day. Any visible cell phone or electronic device may be confiscated. Confiscated items will need to be picked up by a parent or guardian in the main office.
Pautas: Los estudiantes deben usar ropa limpia que no tenga agujeros ni roturas y que sea apropiada para la estación.
Voluntary Accident Brochure
The Red Clay Consolidated School District offers a voluntary low cost accident insurance for your student. Families can choose either during the school day or 24-hour coverage. The brochure is attached. Applications and fees should be sent directly to the Philadelphia Insurance Companies. There is no obligation to purchase this insurance.
