The yearbook traditionally includes messages from parents/guardians of 5th graders to their students. These are a way to congratulate them for their transition from Elementary School to Middle School, marking an important milestone in their lives. All 5th grade parents/guardians are encouraged to submit a message to your student (due to limited space, please limit messages to 1 per student). This should be a brief message (600 Characters or less, this includes each letter, punctuation, and space) that will be included in a special section of the yearbook. Also, if you choose, your message may be written in your native language.

Sample messages include:

“We are so proud of the accomplishments you have made so far! Good luck next year in Middle School!” Love Mom, Dad and Sister

“You will make mistakes but don’t give in – it's all an experience. Wishing you the best as you find your star and reach for it!” – Love your family.

• Pick a structured time to complete homework
• Stay calm and positive
• Set a timer
• The ultimate goal is to build "reading stamina". If you need to work up to reading 30 minutes, then that is OK. You can break up reading time into 2 or 3 "10 minute sessions" with breaks in between.

I believe open and honest communication is extremely important to the educational success of any student. I will post most frequently on Class Dojo, usually about the day-to-day activities of our class and very important events. I will also keep our Smore Newsletter updated as often as needed. This will include a monthly overview of lessons, our class calendar, as well as school-wide special events. I will also offer opportunities to schedule either in-person or phone conferences periodically throughout the school year.

My preferred communication hours are Monday-Friday, from 7:25am-4:00pm. Any messages received outside of those hours will be answered as soon as possible the next school day. The best way to contact me is through Class Dojo, but you can also email me!
