STUDENT SCHEDULING FOR THE 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR
We hope this message finds you well. Below is important information regarding student scheduling for the 2025-2026 school year.
Background Information
The high school and middle school counselors recently collaborated with department chairs to update the course catalog, departmental offerings, and other scheduling details.
Scheduling Process
We will guide students through the following steps:
- Scheduling Assemblies
Students will attend their grade-level scheduling assembly on the dates below. The counselors will review new graduation requirements, the semester schedule, and other key details
- December 10th: 9th Grade Advisory
- December 12th: 10th Grade Advisory
- December 17th: 11th Grade Advisory
2. Explore the Course Catalog - Students should review the courses in the 2025-2026 Course Catalog available on our webpage.
3. Complete the Schedule Form and AP Policy - These forms are for planning purposes only and will not be collected. Forms are located on our webpage.
4. Enter Course Selections in PowerSchool -- After discussions with teachers and parents, students will enter their course selections in PowerSchool (not the parent account). They can complete this at home or school. A "How to Schedule in PowerSchool" video is also available on our webpage. If students are unsure about their choices, they will have the opportunity to finalize them during their counselor scheduling meeting.
5. Attend a Scheduling Meeting with Their Counselor - Each student will meet with a counselor in small groups (appointment times are posted on the Seaholm Counseling website). During these meetings, counselors will:
- Review students’ course selections.
- Audit transcripts to ensure they are on track to meet graduation requirements.
- Discuss students’ college and career goals.
Scheduling Calendar
Below are the scheduling weeks by grade level:
- Juniors: Week of January 29 - February 2
- Sophomores: Week of February 5 - 9
- Freshmen: Week of February 12 - 16
- Mid-Winter Break: February 19 - 23
Important Considerations
We encourage students to carefully consider the homework commitments for each course and how these align with their commitments, such as work or extracurricular activities. Course selections have a significant impact on teacher assignments and budget decisions for the school year. Thoughtful planning is essential.

Thank you for your support in helping your student prepare for a successful school year.
Seaholm Library’s Tea Station Donations
The Seaholm Library’s Tea Station has been a hit with students! We love seeing the excitement on students’ faces when they discover that they can help themselves to a warm drink in this cozy corner of the library.
But due to the overwhelming success, we are now running low on disposable cups, tea, and hot cocoa mix. Students are encouraged to bring reusable mugs, but having disposable cups for those who forget would be much appreciated, as would any donations of teas or cocoa to keep us stocked up for winter. We are also continually accepting donations for other tea-related supplies as well. Thank you from the Seaholm Library and our student patrons for any and all donations!

Baldwin Public Library Student Representatives 2025-26
The Board of the Library is seeking interested applicants to serve as the student representative to the Library Board, from February 2025-2026. High School Juniors who reside in Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms or City of Bloomfield Hills are eligible.
The commitment to this position requires that the BPL Student Representative attend 10 of 12 meetings typically occurring on the third Monday of the month, along with reviewing the monthly agenda, minutes, and reports prior to the meeting, which can be found at http://www.baldwinlib.org/staff-board. In addition to participating in Board meetings, the Student Representative will also work with Library staff and either assist with a service project or coordinate and implement a teen program during the year.
To find application details, visit www.baldwinlib.org/volunteer. The completed application, essay, and two letters of recommendation are due by January 9, 2025 to Jaclyn Miller at the Baldwin Public Library, 300 West Merrill, Birmingham, MI 48009 or via email to Jaclyn.Miller@baldwinlib.org.
Sports Cycle will be open every Friday for both A and B lunch through the end of the school year in the cafeteria at their store. Shop upcycled sports clothing and equipment free of charge! Sports Cycle is a non-profit student organization that redistributes and repurposes gently used sports gear of all ages, sizes, and sports back to the community. If you have any questions, contact by DM on Instagram or X at sportscycle_shs or email at sportscycle.shs@gmail.com.
Cleaning out your closets? Donate to Bloom!
Our inventory is getting LOW and we are asking our Seaholm AND all BPS families to bring your gently used clothing items to donate and help stock our store! There is a Bloom collection box at the Pool Door entrance and in the Main Entrance Security Office for easy, convenient drop off.
Bloom is a second hand store that promotes students to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Instead of paying for store items, students share a positive note with a special faculty/staff member or friend, creating a caring and positive community! Bloom is open for students to shop on Tuesdays during A/B lunches or by appointment.
This is a valuable resource for families in the district, not just at Seaholm! Please keep Bloom in mind when you are cleaning out closets at home!

First Fridays
The Seaholm parent community recognizes the staff throughout the year on the First Friday ( or second if there is a vacation or half day) of each month. All Seaholm staff member's names are placed in a drawing at the beginning of the year ,and each month names are selected at random for a chance to win one of the many gifts provided by the wonderful community of Seaholm families. The goal is that by the end of the year, every Seaholm staff member has received a gift. Therefore, we need many donations to make this happen! The gift is usually in the $20 and up range and has been anything from gift cards, household items, event tickets, or anything you feel is appropriate. Please consider donating by signing up below. If you are able, please sign up to recognize and thank our teachers for all they do.

If your family would like to help sponsor one of the monthly treat days, you can Venmo $150 to @SeaholmHS-PTA. Please include the family name you would like included on the sign placed with the treats.
