We had a great week at Indian Hills! Students experienced leadership opportunities at school and across the district, we had wins in all Fall sports, and we opened up the PBIS Rewards patio for lunch!

On Monday, September 30th, our 8th graders will be participating in an activity focused on mental health and suicide prevention. The GiveMe20 program was started by two local moms who lost their teen children to suicide and now they are working to make a difference in how we view and talk about mental health. The 8th graders will hear directly from the moms and then create “life boxes” to keep with them during hard times as they move on to high school and beyond. We’re looking forward to an impactful activity for our students. To opt your student out of participating, please email nicolenelson@smsd.org.

Starting this week, we will be highlighting two Artists of the Week!

Please encourage your student to keep a change of clothing in their locker. The nurse’s office does not have clothing for students to wear.

Academic Learning Lab (A.L.L.) is our after school tutoring here at IHMS. If your student needs time or help after school completing any assignments for school, they are invited to stay after for A.L.L. This is totally optional, but there will be a couple of teachers there each day to facilitate and support student’s needs.

A.L.L. is hosted in the IHMS Library Monday through Thursday from 3:50-4:35pm. Activity bus will run at/around 4:35pm to take students home if need be. We look forward to seeing your students there!

A.L.L. will be closed the week after each quarter. Those weeks are:

• October 14-18th

• January 6-10th

• March 24-28th

Indian Hills Wrestling is open to all 7th and 8th grade boys and girls.

Parent Information meeting: October 3rd at 6:00 pm, IHMS library,

The Student Information Meeting: October 1st at 8:50 am during Knight Time.

Practice will begin on October 17th. (Football players start 10/22)

2024 Season Schedule

All athletes must complete their athletic paperwork, physical, and concussion forms before our first practice. These documents can be found here. Make sure they are turned in at the front office before 10/17.
