Volleyball tryout events for eligible student athletes in Grades 5-8/MYP Y3 are being held in October! Review the flyer below for event dates, times and location. Be sure to have your child's mandatory forms uploaded to Aktivate by the appropriate deadlines listed. Without approval, students are not eligible to participate in these scheduled events.

• On Thursday, October 3, 2024, there is no school scheduled for students and our offices will be closed.

• Classes resume for all students on Friday, October 4, 2024, and our offices will re-open and resume office hours.

As agreed to by all Parents/Guardians and defined in the Parent School Contract, Franklin Academy families must complete service hours each academic year. Franklin Academy’s family service hour agreement states that Franklin families will be required to perform eight (8) hours of service for the academic year regardless of the number of students enrolled.The service hour window for this school year opened on July 1 and will close on June 30, of next year.

Once a parent/guardian logs in to the parent portal, they select their first child's name from the top menu, then click on the "Family Service Hours" link in the vertical menu. This page will display your annual requirement, assigned SHID, Service Hour ID, and the total hours your family has completed.

Initially, all families will see a zero listed, but rest assured, this does not mean that your hours that you may have completed during our break are lost. The service hours will be updated shortly after the first academic quarter ends and will reflect your current completed hours.

After reviewing your first child's SHID, if applicable, please repeat the process for additional children in your family. If all of them have the same SHID, your account is set up correctly. If any of your children have a different value, you should contact, via email, Mrs. Torres, our Director of School Operation,s with the details so they can be corrected before the initial update.

Attendance is always important, but it’s especially critical during FTE Week, which runs from October 7-11, 2024.

Student attendance directly impacts our school’s funding, and we want to ensure we receive the maximum support for our students. Let’s aim for perfect attendance together!

Additionally, please have your child ride their assigned Maranata Bus School Service bus, if they are eligible. Student bus attendance also contributes to our school’s assigned funding.
