November Students of the Month
Congratulations to the #proudcardinal November Students of the Month! These students were chosen because of their bravery. Bravery is not always about big, dramatic acts, but about consistently doing the right thing even when it may be difficult. Their willingness to take risks, face challenges head-on, and support others with confidence is a testament to their character and represents the values of Dryden High School.

Random Student of the Week
Kaeleigh Gourieux
by Claire Wright
Kaeleigh Gourieux is a junior at Dryden and has been a student there since halfway through kindergarten. She is involved in several activities at Dryden, including the Bowling team, Drama Club, DMA, and Student Council. She used to be part of Link Crew but aged out of it. Kaeleigh's favorite thing about Dryden is the friends she has made. Outside of school, she enjoys roller skating, gaming, and hanging out with friends. While she is unsure about her dream career, Kaeleigh plans to take a year off after high school to travel and figure out what she wants to do with her life before committing to college.

Senior Seminar Speaker
Zack Ballinger
by Isabella Weier
On November 22nd, Zack Ballinger came to speak with us. He is a motivational speaker who came to talk to us about his life and the book he published. He had a powerpoint that had a bunch of slides on it. I think the speaker was very good. His presentation never got boring. He had a lot of stuff happen in his life but now he is very successful.
He lived with his grandma when he was younger. He said some weeks they could barely afford to buy food like bread, milk, or eggs. His grandma always made sure there was food on the table for him. In college, he started to struggle hearing out of his ear. He explained it as ringing in his ear to start. One day he woke up and he could not hear at all. He went to the doctor and he had to get a implant so he could hear again. He also wrote a book called “The Hot Seat”. Throughout his life he got interviewed hundreds of times. The book is about how to handle job interviews and what you should do.
In conclusion, Zack was a great speaker. I found his story very interesting and motivating. He went through a lot in his life and where he is now shows that if you work hard then you will become successful. He is probably my favorite speaker so far. He was very motivational and I liked that about his speech. The book he wrote seems like it would be very interesting and help people learn how to ace your job interview. It made me want to go get his book to get some ideas. Interviews scare me because I feel like I am going to screw up. Maybe after reading his book I can get some pointers, so I won’t feel so scared about a job interview.
