Noon Message to Families
August 19, 2024
Cedar Hill ISD Families & Community,
As we celebrate 120 years of educating our community, I am excited to announce the launch of our Community Spirit Days! Starting on August 20, and continuing on the 20th of every month, we invite everyone to show their Longhorn pride by wearing Cedar Hill ISD gear. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and reflect on our shared history and bright future.
To mark this special occasion, we have commemorative shirts available for purchase at K&D Designs in Cedar Hill. Wearing one of these shirts is a great way to honor our legacy and show support for our students and staff.
Let’s make August 20th a day of unity and pride for Cedar Hill ISD. I look forward to seeing our community in spirit wear throughout the year as we celebrate 120 years of educational excellence.
Please post photos of you and your family wearing the commemorative shirt and include the official hashtag #CHISD120.
Thank you for your continued support!
Dr. Gerald B. Hudson
Superintendent
Welcome to the start of a brand-new school year!
The first week is always a time of excitement and anticipation as we set the stage for a successful academic journey. This week, we will focus on establishing a strong foundation for the months ahead. It's essential to start the year with clear goals, a positive mindset, and a commitment to excellence.
During this initial week, students will become familiar with their schedules, meet their teachers, and begin to understand the expectations for each course. It's a perfect time to get organized—set up binders, review syllabi, and create a study plan. I encourage students to ask questions, participate actively, and start building good habits right from the start. Parents, your support at home is invaluable in reinforcing these efforts.
Academically, the first week sets the tone for the entire school year. Whether it's reviewing foundational concepts, diving into new material, or engaging in classroom discussions, every moment counts. Let’s work together to create an environment where curiosity is nurtured, challenges are embraced, and everyone strives to reach their full potential.
Skyward Family Access
Skyward Family Access is an essential tool for both parents and students, providing a centralized platform for managing and monitoring academic progress. With real-time access to grades, attendance records, assignments, and schedules, it fosters transparency and keeps parents informed about their child's education. This level of visibility allows parents to support their child's learning by addressing academic challenges promptly, ensuring that students stay on track.
Additionally, Skyward Family Access facilitates better communication between parents, students, and educators. Parents can easily communicate with teachers, monitor upcoming school events, and stay updated on school announcements. This collaborative approach helps to create a stronger support system around the student, promoting a more personalized and effective educational experience.
For students, Skyward Family Access is a valuable resource for self-monitoring. It encourages accountability, as they can track their own progress, set goals, and take proactive steps to improve their performance. The platform's user-friendly interface makes it easy for students to navigate, ensuring that they remain engaged with their academic responsibilities.
