What's Up At The Nest...
Principal's Message
Have a wonderful weekend!
RESILIENCE
One of the themes we work to teach our students is resilience...
-No ice in our water bottle? That's ok! We won't get a brain freeze.
-No spoon in our snack or lunch? That's ok! A lunch supervisor is happy to help.
-Forgot a snack? That's ok! Some students never bring a snack, so we can have no-snack buddies. Also, lunch is just around the corner!
-No PE shoes? No worries, you will get to watch today but we bet you will remember next time!
It is okay, and preferable, that families don't rush to school to bring items left at home. Part of learning is having to do without so that next time we remember. Teaching responsibility and fostering independence is an important part of the school experience!
Funnel Friday's
Our first Funnel Friday is planned for Friday, September 17th.
What is Funnel Friday?
Working with the school resource officer at Hersey, a team (basketball, soccer, cheerleading, etc) creates a tunnel on our front plaza to welcome our students to school. Our bus riders, CAP friends, and students that enter through door 7 are all directed to enter the main front doors through the tunnel if they want to. We have staff located at door 7 for any student that does not want to participate in the tunnel.
