Point of View
Excelsior Springs, Missouri
They.Just.Care.
There are many things you can teach people...and caring is not one of them. No matter how hard you try. No matter how you might plead; some people just don't care. Some people don't even care that they don't care (think about that for a minute). This is why it is critical to hold on to those people who do care.💡 They care about doing things right the first time. They care about the team they are fortunate to be on. They care about the company they are a part of. They care about the experience their customers have. They care if the company is making money. They care about their role. They care enough to ask, "how can I help this team be even stronger?". They care about coming to work prepared to uplift (and not bring down) the team morale. ⭐They. Just. Care. Period. Key Project Updates
- The ES Municipal Court is in process of converting to Show-Me Courts (SMC). This means cases will eventually be available to view on Case.Net & attorneys will be able to eFile as they have been doing for several years now. The court also offers a public access terminal in the Police Station lobby (301 S Main), individuals can access, view & make payments on cases 24/7. The transition period will continue over the next several months as we phase out our current court operating system & work towards fully implementing SMC. Your patience during this conversion is greatly appreciated!
- Public Works is making several concrete repairs around town at South/Marietta to repair damage to street from Royal Hotel demolition (half complete), repairs on Broadway, KC Ave., High Dr., Virginia Rd., Riverstone Dr., & Zay Dr.; installed one of two culverts on Lover's Lane, & converting lights at Wastewater Treatment Plant to LED. Concrete repairs are funded by Transportation Trust/CIP sales tax funds. LEDs replacement is funded by sewer rates, but investment will be recovered by lower operating costs.
- Storm water 5-year operating permit has been renewed. we are completing outfall inspections now. The purpose of the inspections is to verify that pollutants that may be entering the drainage system from roadways are not being discharged into waterbodies, thereby polluting them.
- The street department crew is getting ready for snow; salt/sand has been received, equipment is ready, & the new crew is learning the snow plow routes.
- GIS records are being updated, itemizing linear & nonlinear assets in water & sewer departments to complete the Fixed Assets Replacement Schedule needed for audit.
- Asbestos testing is underway in 4 houses getting ready for demo. Demolitions are funded by CIP.
