Happy Sunday, CFHS Chargers!

Join us in welcoming our new Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach, Stephen Hill, to the Fulshear High School family. Coach Hill brings a wealth of experience and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field. We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to successful seasons ahead under his leadership.

Fulshear High School is buzzing with exciting events this spring. This Friday marks the inaugural Dodgeball Tournament, a fun-filled event aimed at raising funds for the Senior Class. It's a great opportunity for students to showcase their skills and have a blast while supporting a worthy cause. Adding to the excitement, Friday is also an early release day, giving everyone a bit of extra time to enjoy the weekend.

Our Boys and Girls soccer teams wrapped up their seasons with incredible performances in the first round of the playoffs last week. Their dedication and hard work have been truly inspiring, and they have set a high standard for future teams. A big thank you to all the players and coaches for their amazing efforts and commitment to excellence.

We are thrilled to announce that the Fulshear High School Theatre Department has achieved a remarkable victory, securing 1st place at the district level. Their creativity, talent, and hard work have paid off, and they will now advance to the next competition. We couldn't be prouder of their achievements and look forward to seeing their continued success.

In sports news, our baseball team celebrated a significant milestone last Friday. With their latest win, Coach Jensen has reached an impressive 300 career wins. This achievement is a testament to his dedication, skill, and the strong teamwork of the players. Congratulations to Coach Jensen and the entire team for this outstanding accomplishment.

With 24 years of coaching experience, Stephen Hill has built a career marked by success, leadership, and championship-caliber football. He began his coaching journey in Temple, Texas, at Travis Middle School and has since established himself as one of the premier coaches in the state.

As a Head Football Coach for eight seasons, Coach Hill amassed an impressive 77-17 record, earning Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Coach of the Year honors in 2010. That same year, he led his team to a state championship, repeating the feat in 2011 for back-to-back titles.

In addition to his head coaching success, Coach Hill has 10 years of experience as an Offensive Coordinator, with a track record of producing high-powered offenses. In 2022, he coordinated the #1 scoring 6A offense in Texas. Most recently, he helped guide Randle High School to a 5A Division II state championship.

Coach Hill also brings experience at the collegiate level, having served as an Offensive Quality Control Coach at Rice University in 2013, where he contributed to a Conference USA Championship and a Liberty Bowl appearance. He later worked as a Senior Offensive Analyst at Texas State University in 2018.

With a deep passion for the game and a proven ability to develop elite-level talent, Coach Hill takes pride in mentoring student-athletes, instilling discipline, and preparing them for success both on and off the field. His dedication continues to leave a lasting impact on Texas high school football and, more importantly, on all the students he has coached throughout his career.

Coach Hill earned his bachelor's degree in health education at Eastern New Mexico University. He and his wife, Amanda, have three daughters: Kennedy, Campbell and Reese

*Reminder * - District Communication Eblast - December 20, 2024

We are committed to maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment for all our students. To support this commitment, we have made several important updates to the Lamar CISD Student Code of Conduct, Elementary and Secondary Student Handbooks. These changes are effective immediately and aim to address the appropriate use of technology within our schools.

"Get-It-Done Mondays" will be academic support sessions in the CFHS Library . These sessions will run from 4:00 - 6:00 PM and will give students a chance to work with FHS teachers on classwork and studying for ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Learning. This is a great opportunity for students to catch up on missing assignments and get help if they need it.

Students can sign up using the QR code in the attached flyer. Those who attend will need to arrange transportation home when the sessions finish at 6:00 PM.

The Lamar CISD Board of Trustees approved new secondary campus zones for the 2025-2026 school year, and I am writing to inform you of some important changes that may affect your child’s campus assignment starting in the 2025-2026 academic year if they are currently in grades 5 - 11. To determine if you and your family will be impacted by the rezoning, please follow the steps below.

• Go to the Lamar CISD website – www.lcisd.org
• At the top of the page, click on “Find My School”
• Using the dropdown arrow next to “School Year 2024-25”, select “School Year 2025-26”
• Begin entering your home address in the search bar
• Once you see your address, click on that address
• On the lefthand side of the site, you will see the elementary, middle school, junior high school, and high school that your home is zoned for in Lamar CISD

Families who are impacted by the rezoning will be directly contacted to provide detailed information regarding these changes later this school year.
