Tracking The Huskies

A historic season for the HT Football team came to an end Friday night. The Huskies advanced to the state semifinals for the first time since 1996. HT has now won at least one playoff game in seven of the last eight years.

Special thanks to our spirit groups, family members, and fans that supported the team this season.

HT Swimmer Joshua Starkey will be in Auburn this weekend for the AHSAA State Meet. At the Sectional meet, Starkey finished 1st in the 200 IM and 4th in the 500 Free. Good luck to Joshua at State!

The Hewitt-Trussville Varsity Boys Basketball team went 2-1 this week and now sit 7-3 overall on the season. On Monday, the Huskies traveled to Tuscaloosa and defeated Hillcrest 45-42. Reid Stodghill led the team with 19 points. Rashad Rolley added 17 points.

The Huskies won again on the road Tuesday night as they defeated Indian Springs 59-47. Reid Stodghill scored 17 points and Colt Wells added 16 points. The Huskies dropped a game to Ramsay on Thursday night.

The Huskies will return home Tuesday night for a home contest against Oxford.

The HTHS Girls Basketball team went on the road Thursday night and defeated Ramsay 65-30. Lauryn Holley hit three shots from behind the arc and scored 21 points. Jordan Hunter added 14 points. Mia Ada, Amber Newman, and Ryleigh Martin all had eight points each.

Coach Tonya Hunter's team will play at home on Tuesday night against Oxford.

The HT Bowling teams remained perfect in Region play this week. Both HT teams are currently in first place in the Region. The HT Boys defeated Huffman 1301-915 on Thursday. Tristan Atwood rolled a 192 to lead the team.

The HT Girls are now 8-2 overall and 6-0 in Region play. The Huskies will travel to Gadsden next week for a tournament before playing Center Point in a pair of Region matches.

The Hewitt-Trussville Wrestling team will host the Husky Individual Pools this weekend. Action inside Bryant Bank Arena will begin at 5:30pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday. A total of 19 teams will visit Trussville for the event.

The HTMS Bowling teams completed the regular season on Thursday. The HT Girls swept Clay-Chalkville and Thompson on the final day of the regular season. The HT Boys went 1-1 on Thursday. The Huskies will travel to Vestavia on Monday for the Metro Tournament.

The HTMS Wrestling team defeated Homewood and Moody on Tuesday night. The Huskies beat Homewood 81-4 and beat Moody 63-18.

The HTMS Boys Basketball teams swept Bragg on Tuesday night. The 7th Grade Huskies won 35-21 and the 8th Grade Huskies won 41-32. The 7th Grade Girls Basketball team went on the road and defeated Bragg 30-20.
