Last month, we were able to take over 60 of our middle school student leaders to an exciting career exploration event at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
The Lake County Navig8Lake career exploration event, the first of its kind in Lake County, hosted over 110 industry partners across seven career pathways. More than 4,000 Lake County students, including ours, were in attendance.
The event connected students with industry professionals through engaging and meaningful hands-on experiences and discussions that helped students learn more about different careers.
Our district was one of six that were instrumental in planning the event. With the support of Dr. Michael Karner and the Regional Office of Education, the team of districts created both pre- and post-assessment plans that encouraged students to be intentional with their time, conversations and experience.
Our Navig8Lake Team is already busy planning and preparing for next year's Navig8Lake and will continue to amplify local organizations and opportunities that connect students with meaningful high skill high careers aligned to their pathways. We can’t wait to continue brightening our students’ futures!
