Hello Week & Red Ribbon Week: Building Connections, Promoting Healthy Choices
At BA, we’re excited to kick off Hello Week and Red Ribbon Week back-to-back because both share the same goal: fostering positive relationships and encouraging healthy choices. Hello Week reminds us of the importance of kindness, inclusion, and making everyone feel welcome, while Red Ribbon Week builds on that message by promoting a drug-free lifestyle and empowering students to make smart, healthy decisions.
When we connect with others and feel supported, we're more likely to avoid risky behaviors. Join us in celebrating both weeks by participating in fun events and activities that encourage students to build connections and commit to living drug-free! Together, we can make BA a place where every student thrives.
Stronger Connections Grant: Health & Wellbeing Surveys Begin in November
We are excited to announce that, as part of the Stronger Connections Grant, we will be starting health and wellbeing surveys the first week of November. These surveys will be conducted through advisory and will help us assess the overall wellness of our students and staff. Our goal is to track growth in these areas throughout the year as we work to foster a healthier school environment.
We’ve already seen great results, with discipline data down and academic performance in Common Assessment 1 (CA 1) significantly up from last year. We look forward to continuing this positive trend with your support!
Thank you for helping us prioritize the wellbeing and success of our students.
Upcoming Events
UT Austin Showcase is this Saturday!
OPEN TO ALL BRYAN ADAMS GRADE LEVELS! At this showcase, you’ll learn more about the University, our colleges and schools, and the resources and support you’ll receive as a Longhorn. You’ll also be able to attend our application workshop, where we’ll focus on the admission application, essays and resumes, as well as share helpful tips on choosing your major.
TSI In Day Testing for Seniors
Mark your calendars! Seniors will be taking the TSI (Texas Success Initiative) test on October 29th and 30th. This is an important step for students as they prepare for college readiness. Please ensure your student is well-rested and prepared for these testing dates. To help your student prepare, we have curated a special list of resources and practice exams that your student can engage in from home!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the Senior Leadership Team for more information.
Thank you for your support!
Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Practice Tests
Free practice tests available online can help students familiarize themselves with the format of the TSI. Websites like TSI Practice Test provide multiple practice quizzes for both the math and reading/writing sections.
Khan Academy
Khan Academy offers a range of math and reading/writing lessons that are aligned with TSI content. Students can focus on areas like algebra, geometry, or grammar. Visit Khan Academy for free lessons.
TSI Study App
The TSI Study App is another great tool that offers practice questions and tips. It’s mobile-friendly and available on most app stores, making it easy for students to study on the go.
College Board's Accuplacer Study Guide
The College Board provides free study resources for the TSI on their Accuplacer website, including sample questions, videos, and a downloadable PDF guide.
Encourage your seniors to start prepping early to feel confident on test day!
