State and Federal Updates
School principals should collaborate with their area treasurer to ensure all grant-related budget transfers are completed by March 22, 2024. It is advisable not to delay for planning purposes.
Important Deadlines to Note:
- End of Year Field Trips Deadline: May 25, 2024
- Submission of conference training requests via CCSDAS Request to Attend by May 1, 2024
- No activities are permitted beyond the grant end date of June 30, 2024
- Invoices must be forwarded to Accounts Payable by the final day of school to facilitate payment using current grant funds
- Stipends and extended time pay sheets should be submitted every two weeks for payroll processing, with all activity concluding by June 30, 2024, using current grant funds.

Grant Name: Richard S. Reynolds Foundation

The Richard S. Reynolds Foundation provides assistance to organizations as part of its mission to build strong communities. The foundation makes grants in the areas of education, the arts, health, science, history, the environment, and those in need. Previous grants were used to fund American history programs for high school students, educational programming, school facility improvements for young adults with developmental disabilities, college readiness programs and efforts to increase education levels, and youth orchestra programs.
Eligible applicants are US nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations. Organizations operating outside of the central Virginia area should call before submitting. Applications must be submitted by postal mail; applications by email or fax are not accepted.
Grant Name: Research on Emerging Technologies for Teaching and Learning
Amount: $10,000 - $100,000
Application Due: February 15, 2024
Within arts education, proposals are accepted in the following categories:
• Collective impact projects that transform schools and communities by providing access and engagement in the arts for all students through collective, systemic approaches.
• Direct learning projects that support arts instructions for students prekindergarten through grade 12, that result in increased knowledge and skills in the arts.
• Professional development projects for classroom teachers, arts specialists, teaching artists, school and district administrators, community leaders, and other educators.
