Welcome to January! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season filled with joy and relaxation. Can you believe we are already diving into the second half of the school year? Time truly flies when you're having fun learning and growing together!
Important Dates and Events:
The beginning of the year is a time for a fresh start and new opportunities. Every January we focus on reteaching our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Systems) school-wide expectations that help our Jaguars renew their commitment to the Jaguar P.R.I.D.E. behavior. We are excited for P.R.I.D.E Week, which will run January 6th โ 13th. With this special week our students will focus on doing an outstanding job in each area of P.R.I.D.E., and our staff will recognize students with those letters.
i-Ready Winter Diagnostic: Starting January 6th and running through February 14th, our students will be taking the i-Ready Winter Diagnostic assessments. This is a fantastic opportunity for our teachers to assess individual progress and tailor instruction to meet each child's needs. Please encourage your student to do their best โ we believe in them!
Dress for the Weather: As the temperatures drop, it is important to ensure our students are bundled up and ready for outdoor play! Please help your child dress appropriately for the cold weather each day, so they can enjoy some fresh air during recess.
No School on January 20th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Let us take this day to reflect on the legacy of Dr. King and the importance of community service and social justice. We encourage families to engage in discussions about his impact and consider participating in local events honoring his memory.
Teacher Workday on January 31st: A reminder that there will be no school for students on this day. Our dedicated teachers will be using this time to collaborate, plan, and enhance our educational programs for your children!
As we embrace the new year, we are excited about all the opportunities ahead for our students. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in their education. Let's make this second half of the year our best yet!
