A note from principal cline
Dear Charger Family,
We have one week left in the quarter and thus a lot of the information here is being reiterated from last week and it is included again below. Reminder-seniors do not have to sign up for picture day but underclassmen do need to sign up and the information is included in the newsletter below. We are also including lots of supplemental learning resources for students as they complete final work for the quarter and prepare for midterms. These are included below and I also wanted to add the Humanize My Hoodie Homework Hotline. Humanize My Hoodie (HMH) has been a great partner of mine and many of our students were able to benefit from learning with them last spring. I encourage our students to take advantage of this and the resources included below for additional assistance with course work.
The PreACT will be administered to all 10th graders on Tuesday, Nov 9th and Wednesday, Nov 10th at CMVHS (1900 Newcastle St.). The arrival time will be between 6:45 and 7:00 am and testing will wrap up by 11:30 a.m. An email will be sent to 10th graders with additional details as students will be assigned to either Tuesday or Wednesday to test. We will also include the assignments in an upcoming newsletter.
Please mark your calendars also for Thursday, Oct 18th at 10:00 am for our November Grade Level Meetings. This will be a great event that will include learning on Naviance which is tool that enables collaboration between students, parents and CMVHS to assist students with creating, executing, adjusting and benefiting from a college and career plan to help them with postsecondary success.
Tuesday, Oct 26th- Last day work will be accepted for 1st quarter of the 21-22 Academic Year
Monday, Oct 25th-Thursday, Oct 28th-Midterm exams will be administered that count 20% of the student’s 1st quarter grade
Friday, Oct 29th-First Quarter Ends
As an integral part of the learning team, parents can support students by checking their grades and making sure that any missing work is taken care of. We can also encourage our students to take advantage of any review opportunities provided by teachers. Please check in with your student(s) to remind them of these deadlines and the importance of finishing strong.
There are four data sources for parents to access grades for CMVHS Students:
