Principals Message
Our CHS Unity week (Nov. 12-15th) was a great week of fun and Belonging in our Eagle Nation and our CSD Strategic Plan - Roadmap '27 Goal #2 - Supporting Every Student's Wellbeing & Inclusion. Our CHS Student Leadership helped to organize different CHS Spirit Dress Days (Orange Unity Day, PJ, Culture, and Eagle Out) and fun lunch activities focused on building unity and acceptance for everyone. It was a great week of School Spirit (See pictures).
Our CHS Boys' Soccer team fought hard but lost against Summit High School in Saturday's OSAA Quarterfinals State Play-off game. It was a great game, and our CHS Boys' Soccer team did an outstanding job representing our Eagle Nation and had an outstanding season. Way to go, Eagles!
Thank you to everyone who made Tuesday night's REAP Family Night a great event and also supported our students and families in Goal #2—Supporting Every Student’s Wellbeing & Inclusion. Food, gift cards, community partner resources, games, and meeting many community partners from across our district were highlights. Thank you to all our families who attended this great event because a strong family partnership makes a difference for our students.
It was impressive that 43 CHS Senior students and three staff members went on college tutoring at PSU and Lewis and Clark on Thursday. Thank you to everyone who supported our seniors in our CSD Strategic Plan - Roadmap '27 Goal #5 Preparing Every Student for Their Future - where each student will graduate with the skills necessary to thrive in a diverse and rapidly evolving world.
Another part of our CSD Strategic Plan - Roadmap '27 is our Centennial Profile of a Graduate, where all Centnnial School District Graduates will be:
- Academically Prepared
- Passionate and Purposeful
- Care for Self
- Care for Community
- Inquisitive and Innovative
- Future Ready
Each of our Seniors displayed this in full during Thursday night's Eagle Expo. Great job to all our CHS Seniors who presented their Senior Projects during the Eagle Expo and demonstrated how they exceeded each area of the Centennial Profile of a Graduate. They all did an outstanding job! Thank you to everyone who supported them, gave feedback, participated, and made this an excellent opportunity for our Seniors to showcase what they have learned and their plans after high school.
Remember, Winter Sports Session Begins, November 18th. Remember, tryouts for our Winter Sports session begin Monday, November 18th. It is a great time to participate in many different sports and activities. Make sure you have your Athletic paperwork in and show your school spirit, have some fun, make new friends, and try out for a winter sport on Monday.
Remember, "Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle" at CHS!

National Native American Heritage Month
November is National Native American Heritage Month. The month provides an opportunity to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people.
Inclement Weather - Be Ready!
With the colder winter months just around the corner, we want to remind families and staff of the procedures used by our District when inclement weather occurs.
The Centennial School District maintains a preparedness plan for the monitoring of inclement weather and potential weather-related impacts on school operations, including our facilities and road safety for transportation. As these impacts are evaluated, there may be changes to the school schedule, such as a school closure, a delayed start to the school day, or an early dismissal. Snow routes for our school buses will also be used when road conditions are deemed unsafe by our Transportation Department staff.
When inclement weather causes changes such as these, we will notify our staff and families using multiple methods:
- ParentSquare messaging (text, email, app notifications, and/or voicemail). If you need assistance registering for the ParentSquare app, please contact your school office.
- Centennial School District website: www.csd28j.org
- Social Media (Facebook: CentennialSD28j / Instagram: centennial_schools)
- Flash Alert notifies local news stations. Individuals can subscribe to receive FlashAlert updates for Centennial School District here: http://www.flashalert.net/id/centennialsd
Parents/caregivers, if your email address or phone number has changed in the last year, please contact your school office to ensure we have your up-to-date contact information.
