Chaos over London
Britain Struggles to Fight off German Air Raids
After the Fall of France, Britain stands as the only democracy in Europe. With this, an invasion is inevitable. Hitler's strategy so far has been to take control of the skies and seas before launching a land invasion. Bombing raids meant to terrorize the civilian populace are a frequent occurrence over the isle. To fight this, Britain's Royal Air Force has been working around the clock to ensure that Britain remains in the fight. While it seems that the bombing has come to a close, the Luftwaffe still poses a major threat to the British.
Winston Churchill
Winston Churchill was born into a wealthy family in 1874. He served in the Boer War as well as The Great War. He enlisted in the British Army after the horrific defeat at Gallipoli, a battle he planned. In 1939, he was made First Lord of the Admiralty. In 1940, he was made Prime Minister of Britain. He hopes to lead Britain through this dark time, saying "We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France,
we shall fight on the seas and oceans,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.”

Why Hasn't America Joined the war
Through his Fireside Chats, President Roosevelt has addressed many of our nations issues over radio broadcasts. One issue he has mentioned multiple times is the war in Europe. The United States currently believes in staying out of the war. After all, the war is in Europe, not here, and Americans do not want the death toll brought by The Great War again. The country does appear to be helping in some ways however. The Lend-Lease Act allows the USA to give much needed supplies to Britain. There are challenges however, as a great battle wages in the Atlantic. German U-Boats raid convoys constantly, and many ships our sunk
Persuasive Column: Join the War
Hitler will show no mercy, which is why I say we should enter this war today. France has already fallen and the Battle of Britain has already begun. Hitler seeks world domination, and if Britain falls these United States are soon to come. With the sinking of many of our cargo ships these are already acts against America and we should be taking action against the Germans. We need to be prepared to fight and defend Britain, or we could lose all of Europe to the Nazi power. I say again today if we do not take action now we will be under prepared and the war will come to us before we decide to go to it.
The Situation in Japan
With Japan’s war in China reportedly slowing down they further the blame on the United States on their failure since the United States already have economic sanctions against the island nation. Reports have come in however on Japan seeking to invade the French colonies in southeast Asia. If this is the case it is believed President Roosevelt will put an embargo on the country, cutting off trade completely with them until this issue is resolved.
