Dear Students, Families, and Community Members,

With November here and the start of Quarter 2, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for each of you and your contributions to our school community. This time of year, is a great opportunity to reflect on the support, dedication, and teamwork that you bring to our school, helping create a positive and successful learning environment. Thank you for all you do!

As we move into this new quarter, I’d like to highlight the importance of consistent attendance and a focus on academic growth. Every school day matters, and being in class is essential for reaching academic goals. Keeping up with assignments, asking questions, and setting time aside for studying will help each student stay on track and continue making progress. Striving to get 1% better.

Please know that we are here to support you, and we encourage everyone to reach out for any assistance needed. Let’s work together to finish the semester strong and make the most of this season.

Student Council and NJHS are looking to collect canned goods to donate to Community Cooperative Food Bank in time for the holidays.

We are asking that students bring in canned goods to their homeroom (first period) teachers. Student council and NJHS members will be collecting them throughout the week between 9:15 – 9:45am before classes begin. Members will also count the cans for you 😊

We are going to reward one class from each grade level that brings in the most cans

Collections will begin Oct. 7 until Nov. 8.

Yearbook picture retakes will be on Wednesday, November 6th.

On Wednesday, October 16th, Challenger celebrated Unity Day, which is an Anti-Bullying Campaign that is held NATIONWIDE on the third Wednesday in October each year. As a school we decorate, make posters, and wear ORANGE for the occasion.

Please join us in congratulating the following students on the selection of their work which was exhibited Wicked Walk. It was on display at the Sidney, Burne and Davis Art Center in Downtown Ft. Myers for their fall celebration.

The following students have their work going into the Annual Holiday Greeting Card Contest through the Lee County School District Public Education. The best entries will be blown up and placed on a 4’ x 6’ display board. These will be exhibited in the foyer of the Public Education Building for the holiday season.

Mrs. Taylor is one of our new additions to Challenger this year and she teaches 8th Grade Science. She might be new to our school, but Mrs. Taylor has already been teaching for 7 years! For fun she enjoys being outside, enjoying nature, and going to baseball games. When asked what her favorite part of teaching is, she told us that she loves building relationships with students. We also asked her if she could teach any other subject what would it be, and she chose either 8th grade World History or High School Biology. We are very thankful to have such an amazing teacher like Mrs. Taylor at Challenger Middle!

The October meeting was cancelled due to Hurricane Milton. Our next meeting will take place on Thursday, November 14th, at

5:30 PM.

All PTO/SAC Meetings will be held in person at Challenger Middle School in the Media Center.

The report lists the location, quantity, and condition of all known materials and contains the details of the control procedures, and is available at the school office for your inspection during normal school hours. Copies of the school’s asbestos file can be supplied to you at a cost upon submittal of request.
