Principal's Message Principal's Message

👋 Dear Booth Hill Families,

I'm sure your children were delighted to witness the first snowflakes of the season on Thursday!. The students arrived well-rested, thanks to the extra sleep they enjoyed 😊

December is filled with significant events, and most importantly, your child will be receiving their first report card for the 2024-2025 school year! While many of us are accustomed to traditional printed report cards, we have transitioned to a digital platform. We encourage you to take the time to read and discuss your child's report card with them. Consider asking questions like, "What have been your highs so far this year? Where would you like to grow?" This is a great opportunity for them to share their thoughts and feelings. You might also want to celebrate their achievements and set new goals for Trimester 2. It's essential for your child to know that you are invested in their education and proud of their accomplishments. At Booth Hill, we take great pride in our students' achievements! If you need assistance accessing your child's report card, please refer to the directions provided below.

Warm regards,

Kevin Chase

Progress Reports

As part of our commitment to reducing paper copies, we will no longer be printing copies of student progress reports. For those of you who have students receiving support through PPS, please refer to the Parent Portal for Progress Reports. We would be happy to provide you with a hard copy of your child’s Progress Reports upon written request to our PPS Clerk, Caitlin Robinson crobinso@trumbullps.org and include your NAME and EMAIL ADDRESS.

Reminders Reminders

Smart Watches and Cell Phones

As many of you begin your shopping for the holiday season, please be reminded, Smart Watches and cell phones are not allowed in our elementary schools. Our technology policy requires that staff members fully monitor these devices and this is not feasible or appropriate at this age level. Further, we kindly request you have continued conversations with your child about the appropriate use of technology and social media safety. Thank you in advance for your support!

Warm Clothing for Outdoor Recess

Please be sure your child comes to school each day with a warm jacket or coat, hat, and gloves. We do try to get our students outside even in the cold weather so it is important that they are dressed properly so they can keep warm. Please remember to label all items so they can be returned if lost.

School Attendance School Attendance

As a school community, we continually strive to promote regular attendance at Booth Hill. We welcome and appreciate open communication between school and home; therefore, please reach out if you need assistance with getting your child to school each day and in a timely fashion. Parent and school partnerships enable us to best support our students to ensure success at school.

"Chronically absent is defined as "a child who accumulated a total number of absences at any time during the school year that is equal to or greater than ten percent (10%) of the total number of days that such student has been enrolled at the school during the school year."

Please refer to board policy 5113.1 on our website for more information. https://www.trumbullps.org/board-of-education/policy

As always, thank you for your support.
