Oakland Schools Technical Campus- Southeast
At OSTC-SE, we offer a range of CTE programs that provide students with the technical skills and academic knowledge needed to prepare for future employment and/or a successful transition to post-secondary education. Our rigorous education programs are designed to meet the needs of each student, and our instructors are dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential.
Students will attend OSTC in either the AM or PM Session and will take (3) classes at BHS.

- AP Exam registration status in students' College Board accounts will change after CASA has ordered their AP Exams.
- Students must join their AP course in their College Board account. Students who have issues with College Board accounts must contact College Board at 866-315-6068.
- Cost = $110 per exam ($156 for AP Seminar/Research exam)
- Free / Reduced Cost = $15 per exam.
- You will pay $45 up front, and be refunded $30 once youtube the exam in May.
- Students can indicate when registering if they receive free/reduced lunch. BHS will then verify after student registers.
- Take AP Exam on the LATE Date = Additional $100 fee.
- Indicate you are registering for Alternate Exam.
LATE Registration Window: November 1st - February 14th
- Additional $100 LATE fee per exam
- Cost = $210 per exam ($256 for AP Seminar/Research exam)

π Berkley Schools Announces Varsity Tutors
Free for All Students
Berkley Schools has partnered with Varsity Tutors for Schools, an online platform with access to free learning tools. The Varsity Tutors Platform gives students more opportunities to learn at their own pace, to get support on subjects they might be struggling with, to explore subjects they are learning in class and to support their curiosities.
The platform includes the following:
24/7 on-demand chat tutoring and on-demand essay review to help students with any questions about homework, classwork or test prep.
Live group classes, recorded classes and celebrity-led StarCourses allow students to learn more about the subjects theyβre interested in and add a touch of fun.
Assessments and self study practice problems provide opportunities to drill skills towards mastery.
College prep & admissions resources ensure that students have the best resources available.

Monday. Nov. 4th: Last day to submit the EMU's online application for Onsite Admissions & sign-up for a time slot! (Sign up for a time slot, even if you are already admitted to EMU!)
About the EMU Onsite @BHS:
- There is no fee to apply.
- Mrs. Belsky will take care of your transcripts.
- Test scores are not required.
- If you would like to submit your test score, please indicate when you sign up. Mrs. Belsky will take care of getting the scores.

What is a College Info Session?
During a College Info Session, a college admissions representative/counselor presents to a group of BHS juniors and seniors about their college, admission requirements, application process, scholarships, campus life, and more!
Meeting the college admissions representative for a school you are interested in applying to can be very helpful during the application process. Especially if a school visiting is one of your first choices, introducing yourself to the representative can go a long way!

What is ACE Mentor Program?
High school students in the Detroit area can now benefit from a nationwide program designed to introduce them to the wide range of career opportunities open to young people in architecture, construction, engineering, and related areas of the building design and construction industry.
ACE is open to any interested student grades 9-12, with ANY GPA and an opportunity for FREE college credits upon successful completion of the course.
At weekly meetings, student teams work directly with professionals from leading area firms, who volunteer their time to mentor the teams as they design hypothetical projects, tour local construction sites, and visit architectural, engineering and construction offices.

Oakland County Bar Association's Youth Law Conference
Register by Nov. 5th
The Youth Law Conference is a one-day event that educates high school juniors and seniors about career options in the legal profession and the general legal process, provides tools for better decision-making, and features a variety of legal issues as they pertain to the students. By tailoring this program to the interests and issues of a teen audience, the OCBA and its volunteer attorneys deliver an engaging program that is a hit with students and teachers alike. Society of Women Engineers Detroit - HS Events
β Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship
The NROTC or Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship is a FULL-RIDE Scholarship to approximately 140 different universities across the country. This scholarship is available to any high school senior who wishes to apply.
It is a highly competitive scholarship, and winners who choose to use the scholarship would be required to, at the end of their college career, commission as an officer in either the Navy or Marine Corps.
Additionally, winners that use the scholarship can use it for their freshman year, and if they decide that they no longer wish to continue have no obligation to pay back (only applicable prior to starting Sophomore year of college).

Detroit Zooβs upcoming Teen Conservation Summit, an exciting opportunity for young environmentalists to engage in meaningful conservation work!

π°Co-pay Reimbursement for Mental Health Services
The Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) Mental Health School Navigators are Behavioral Health Professionals that provide outreach and resources to Schools in Oakland County. Their goal is to reduce barriers to mental health services which sometimes includes financial difficulties.
OCHNβs Mental Health School Navigators can provide families with a financial reimbursement resource that provides up to $2000 per household to help cover co-pays and deductibles by a qualified mental health professional, such as for therapy or psychiatry.
These funds are available to any Oakland County student. For more information and to be considered for the reimbursement, complete this form.
