Parking Lot Safety
Your help is needed to make our parking lot efficient and safe.
STOP PARKING ALONG THE RED CURB. This area needs to remain clear in the event that emergency vehicles need to gain access to our school. Park on the street legally to walk your children in or pick them up at dismissal.
Remember:
- no parking along the red curb
- NO LEFT TURN when exiting the parking lot. This causes a traffic jam in the lot and disrupts traffic flow
- do not get out of your vehicle, have your child ready to exit the car, with their backpack, closest to the curb. Scholars should be dressed and ready to exit. If they are not, please park on the street and get your scholar ready.
- if your scholar needs assistance getting to class, please legally park on the street and walk them inside

Learn How to Keep Your Child Safe Online
If your child has access to a cell phone and/or devices that connect to the internet, this workshop is for you. As a former middle school AND high school administrator I encourage you to attend this workshop and begin discussing online safety with your child.
Is Your Scholar Struggling with Executive Functioning?
Executive functioning is the brain’s “coach,” helping kids stay organized, focus, remember things, and manage emotions. It includes skills like planning, flexibility, paying attention, self-control, and problem-solving. Strong executive functioning helps kids succeed in school and life! Come learn strategies you can use at home to support your scholar's development in this area.
It's never too early to begin learning about college for your child. See the information below to learn more.

Restaurant Fundraiser
Mark your calendars for our restaurant night. This is an easy and delicious way to help our school fundraise.
Comet Chase Lap-a-thon 2025!
A packet of information about the Comet Chase went home last week that contained permission slips for hair coloring, participation, and shout-outs to read during the event. Scholars MUST return the permission slip to participate in the lap-a-thon, no exceptions.
Lap-A-Thon links are live! All parents should have received an email with your scholar's fundraising link. Just send the link to colleagues, friends, family, and neighbors to collect donations, it's that easy! Our goal this year is to raise $47,000 to ensure that our PTA can continue to support our specialist programs. If we make this goal, the PTA will provide a schoolwide foam party for all scholars! We did it last year and we CAN do it again!
Unfortunately, the fundraising platform does not allow for siblings to share a link. I understand this may be an inconvenience, but our chosen platform allows us to keep the most money our scholars raise as it does not charge excessive fees. We appreciate your understanding.

YOUR NAME HERE!
Did you know that STARS Academy has a new sponsorship program that allows for your family name to be displayed on our fence? Have your name printed inside of a heart (see image) and display it proudly for everyone to see the support you provide to our school. Check out the link below!
Be On Time!
Our goal is to have 95% positive school attendance and continue to improve each month. This also means getting to school on time and teaching our students to be on time and ready to learn. If you need to report an absence please call the Attendance Line: (805) 241-1065 or email Joanne Vermaak @ jvermaak@conejousd.org. Families have 3 school days to clear absences or else your child will be considered "truant". Also, if you plan to be out of town for 3 or more days, please let our office know.
Please CALL...
Office: (805) 492-3565
Attendance Line: (805) 241-1065
An automated call is generated, if we have not received a call (and unfortunately, sometimes even if we have). Thank you for your support.
