Dear Parents and Carers

We trust you all had a wonderful 4-day weekend and that your children had a good chance to rest and relax. Our staff returned to school well rested and ready for the rest of this big term.

Conjunctivitis

We have had several students present with conjunctivitis, which is a common, acute viral or bacterial infection of the eyes. Symptoms include sore, itchy eyes and discharge. Students with conjunctivitis are infectious while eye discharge is present. If your child is presenting with these symptoms, please see your GP and if a diagnosis of conjunctivitis is given, keep your child at home until the discharge from their eyes has ceased.

Kiss and Drive

Families are reminded that if you have a child in Kindy or Pre-Primary your child needs to be dropped off and collected from their classroom by an adult. This means that Kindy and Pre-Primary students should not be dropped off in the Kiss and Drive.

Soccer Carnival

Today selected Year 6 and 5 girls are representing our school at a soccer carnival. We know they will try their very best and represent our school well, both on and off the soccer pitch.

Greetings

At a recent assembly we spoke to our students about the significance of greeting one another. It makes people feel welcome and creates a sense of belonging. In our Catholic tradition we welcome the stranger. When the ‘other’ is welcomed into the group, as a community we grow our perspectives and understanding. We believe that God has brought each one of you to our school community, sent as a means of grace and a blessing to us.

We are now accepting applications for Kindy 2025 and students in other years. If you know of a friend (a family not already at OLOM) who may be interested, please collect an application form from the office to give to them. If your friend's child is accepted to join our school, you will receive a new school shirt!

Kids Academy runs before and after school care here at OLOM. Pop into see them if you are interested in using this service to help look after your child before or after school.
