PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
It was another great week at Pershing Middle School. I have so enjoyed getting to know your students during this first month of school and I am proud and they continue to impress me with their kindness, work ethic, and energy. We a a bright year ahead of us.
I also wanted to take a moment to remind family that with the help of our ParentFoundation we are hosting an important meeting for parents on Thursday Night that is open to all parents in the Henry Cluster. On Thursday members of the SDPD Internet Crimes Taskforce will be presenting on Internet safety. Parents may attend the meeting in person in the Pershing auditorium or online (click on the flyer above for the link to the meeting). A lot of important information will be presented and we encourage as many families a possible to participate but please know the information is intended for an adult audience only. We hope you will be able to attend.
And last but not least, this is the final week of our Panther Pledge Drive. Please make sure you make your pledge today and help us reach our goal! Details are in the next section.
Sincerely,
Melanie Kray

Our Boys and Girls Track Teams also competed well. Final results had not been posted as of the writing of this newsletter but will be included next week.
If you have photos of our Panther Athletics in action at their MSA events please email them to mkray@sandi.net and we will try to include them in the newsletter.
Stipends in Use – THANK YOU!
One of the great uses of the funds from Panther Pulse is that each teacher receives a $200 Stipend to use how they choose towards enhancing their classroom and enriching our Panther’s experience. This week in our Foundation Meeting, Mrs. Robe shared how she has used her stipend funding to help create a ‘calming corner’ in her classroom which is available during non-instructional time for the students to sit in low with low beach chairs, coloring books, bookmarks, pencils, stickers, fidget items, pillows, rugs and more. Our students love it! Please make your Panther Pledge here today in our last week, so our teachers can continue to receive funds for their invaluable stipends!
Board & Brew Dine-out
Save yourself cooking / food-prep on Wednesday (September 18 from 4pm to 8pm), and head over to board & brew Santee for some delicious Sandwiches, Salads, and chips for a cause! 20% of the sales will be donated to Pershing Middle.
