MESSAGE FROM JASON WESLEY
Hello everyone! We had a fantastic week and finished strong. As we move forward together, let’s continue to give 100% each and every day.
Next week, our "Know Your Score, Know Your Target" initiative will be in full effect. Students should be prepared to share their previous NWEA scores and their upcoming target scores. This will help us stay focused and motivated on our learning goals.
Let’s keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
Principal Wesley

GROSSE POINTE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SPHERE PROJECT
The Grosse Pointe Chamber Foundation worked with all 14 GPPSS buildings in the early summer to decorate spheres that represent the schools. Parcells art teacher Karana Hales, spent time to create a beautiful representation of the panthers with school colors and some glittery pizzazz!
As the fundraiser is coming to a close, for the sphere to remain at Parcells, an auction is open until Sunday night to allow for bidders to keep the sphere at Parcells!
Proceeds are for the Grosse Pointe Chamber Foundation and will be reinvested in the community through scholarships for young entrepreneurs and business grants for business owners.
Bids can be placed via the link:

UNDUNKABLE CHALLENGE
We are having a grade level challenge to help raise money for our PantherPalooza so I told each grade level that Mr. Symonette and I were going to challenge them with a dunk tank. Whichever grade level donates the most money gets to participate in throwing balls at the target to try to dunk us. I am so confident that they will not be able to dunk either of us that we are both wearing a tuxedo. I also told them I have full intentions of leaving the dunk tank 100% dry.
As of this week we have had 140 students donate!! We have 650 students at Parcells so let’s keep your donations coming!
5th Grade is currently in the lead with 34% of the students donating - $2912.00 Great job!
6th Grade is in 2nd place with 19% of the students donating - $1995.00 Keep em coming!
7th Grade is in 3rd place with 15% of the students donating - $1530.00

This week we thank
Sine and Monaghan Realtors for their generous sponsorship to our Panther Palooza!
Support the 2024 PantherPalooza and Color Run!
The PantherPalooza is on Friday, October 11th here at Parcells. Funds raised help our school continue to provide student rewards, literary initiatives, school beautification, and field trips. In addition, funds will be used to install outdoor swings, including adaptive swings, for ALL to enjoy. We are grateful for your support in helping provide many, long-term benefits for our Parcells students for years to come.
How to get started supporting the Panther Palooza:
Donate at MyFunRun.com/parcellspantherpalooza. To donate to a “participant”, use the search feature to locate your student by entering last name, followed by first name (no comma in between names). Once you complete the donation process, use the social media links on your student’s Panther Palooza Fun Run page to share for additional donations.

All sponsors will be contacted to provide a logo for all electronic and print materials. The deadline for sponsorships is October 2nd. PTO Meeting Recap
Thank you to those who could attend our first Parcells PTO meeting of the year this last Monday! We had more than 25 members in attendance, which included parents and teachers. Our new Principal Mr. Wesley shared important updates, his vision for Parcells, and his philosophy on leading a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and staff. It was a fun and productive meeting!
All parents, guardians, teachers, and staff are part of our Parcells Community, and therefore members of the PTO. Membership is free, with no fees. Donations and the gift of your time are always appreciated. There are many opportunities to get involved in many different ways. Volunteering through Parcells PTO is an opportunity to meet other parents, get a feel for your student’s school experience, and support our Parcells community.
You are always welcome to join meetings. The next meeting will be held Monday, October 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the staff lounge across the hall from the auditorium.
