Week in Review
It has been a truly amazing week at Columbus. Today we had our 9th annual Take a Vet to School Day. We were so fortunate to welcome over sixty veterans this year. Many who have been with us many times before. This is always one of the best days of the school year for all of the boys and girls. Learning about your sacrifice and service to our country is so important for them to hear. Along with a breakfast interview, veterans told about their experiences with the children in the classroom. We culminated the day with a assembly to honor our guests. Three veterans also received high school diplomas form Westlake High School. There is no way to duplicate what the children take away from this valuable experience. This week Mrs. Nazaruk statted a “cafeteria redesign project” with some of our fifth graders. Please make sure you scroll to the bottom of the newsletter each week for important announcements and pictures/videos in the Around Columbus section.
