Principal's Message
Dear Chester Ronning School Community,
Somehow, June has already arrived and the process of wrapping up another year of learning begins! Now is the season of finishing up courses, completing assessments and, of course, field trips!
June is always one of the most hectic months in the school year. Students and teachers alike will be working very hard to complete their learning objectives, grades and comments will be updated and finalized and all of the planning processes for the fall needs to be completed before everyone leaves for the summer. But, in the midst of the craziness, the end of the school year is always also a time for gratitude, and I have so much gratitude again this year for the team of educators at our school who work tirelessly day-in and out to provide the best education possible for our students. I'd also like to express my appreciation to our entire school community - your continued support means so much to me and the rest of the staff and we appreciate that we can work together as a team for the betterment of our school. Thank you!
Over this last month of the school year, I look forward to touching base with many of you in the mornings and afternoons to find out how things are going and to learn about your summer vacation plans! Thank you for continuing to prioritize your child's attendance during these last few weeks of classes and, if there is anything that we can help you with before June 26, please don't hesitate to reach out.
I'd also like to offer a last-minute reminder that CRS is participating in the Hope Mission, No Child Hungry walk on Friday, June 6, during periods 9 and 10. Students who have for off-campus walks will do a loop around Kinsman park in support of Hope Mission who provides CRS and many other BRSD schools with incredible support throughout the school year. CRS alone has received 30 lunches each week from Hope Mission and around 60 of our students have benefitted from their extra-curricular programs. If you are able to make a donation to this cause, please visit:

As 80% of children’s learning is visual, it is essential to emphasize the importance of scheduling an eye examination for all school aged children, and especially for kindergarten students as they begin their in-school learning years.
Early detection and intervention can significantly impact a child's educational journey. Alberta Health coverage is available for child’s eye exams up to age 19.
