Principal's Corner
True learning happens when the school, family, and student work hand in hand. This week, we dedicated time to reviewing our school-wide expectations and discussing what it means to embody Godwin PRIDE: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, and Engagement. Additionally, students have been learning and adjusting to several new routines, including our one school-wide lunchtime, using lockers for their backpacks, and finding their way around the building with many classrooms and offices in new locations.
Itās been an exciting week, and weāve loved watching our students grow more comfortable and confident in our school environment each day. Thank you again for your continued support. Weāre looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!

Should My Child Stay Home?
As a general rule, your child should not go to school if they have:
- A fever over 100.4Ā° Fahrenheit (F) or 38Ā° Celsius (C) ā Your child can return to school after theyāve been fever-free for 24 hours without antipyretics. Antipyretics are medicines that treat or prevent fever.
- Signs they are weak and tired. This is common with the flu.
- Diarrhea ā Having loose poop (stool) more often that isnāt caused by a change in diet.
- Throwing up (vomiting) ā More than 2 times in a 24-hour period.
- Coughing that disrupts normal activity.
- Wheezing or get short of breath.
- Pain from earache, headache, sore throat, or recent injury.
- Yellow or green drainage from the eye(s).
- A new rash ā Not all rashes mean your child must stay home from school. Check with their doctor or health care provider.
